Vehicle Detail
This is my 2000 Chevy Corvette "C5" Coupe. This is a beautiful car with an exceptional body and interior. The color is the original Light Pewter Metallic (OEM code 11; PPG code 5377). It has a matching leather interior with all gauges and switches working. The car has a six-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The gearing for this car means you get the torque needed for quick starts and the cruising range necessary to get 29+ MPG on the super slabs. The body has very little sign of any damage, including parking lot problems. I keep the car in the garage during the monsoon season here in Washington. When I do get it dirty from driving in clear weather I wash and keep the whole car in top condition. This is not a trailer queen, it is driven and I have taken it on some local trips. This means it has been caught out in the rain a few times, but not enough to create a problem. Because of the age of the car some of the weatherstrip on the front side of the driver's door developed a small leak. I found it when washing the car. I've had the entire weather strip for that area replaced, a cost of $600 for the weatherstrip alone. I had the work done at Corvettes of Auburn (WA). I hate to sell this car; however, a medical issue requires it. I was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease last year, and I've begun losing full control of my limbs. A weekness in my legs has already appeared, and this means I have a bit of trouble at times holding the clutch in. It only worries me if I'm caught in stop and go traffic. For that reason, I've been driving the car a lot less this year. The disease also means that I can no longer do the little maientenace jobs that I once did; such as replacing a belt or weather strip. That is one reason I had the Corvette shop replace the weatherstrip. At the same time I also had them replace the serpentine belt and check the pulleys. They cleaned the engine as well and indicated that there no other problems. The cost was way more that putting it in myself, obviously. UPDATE: About 30 minutes ago I drove the car for a little fun. Unfortunately, the ABS/Traction light came on, and I don't have a code reader. I called the shop and just to diagnose it would be $75 or more. They suggested I lower my price about $1000 for the sale. I want to be up front with this issue. I realize I could have the system reset and just not drive it until it is loaded. But that's not right. So instead of listing it for $14,500 I'm lowering the price to $13,500. There are no other problems that I can find. Along with the new belt and weatherstrip I've also put in a new Optima Red Top battery. This is an excellent unit and should last a long time. It is also under warranty from the manufacturer. I bought the battery at O'Reilly Auto Parts, so if there is a problem you can find it easily in their system. Below is the after market gear shift knob that I installed. I have the original equipment shift knob as well. If you're not interested in the color knob then let me know and I can swap them for you. The next couple pictures are for demonstration purpose only. I purchased two stripe packages but have not been able to install them. For an extra $100 on top of the sale price you can have your choice. This includes a very nice set of stripes for the side as well as the more traditional black racing stripes. I do have a loan through Chase Bank, but we can easily take care of that with a direct wire transfer. The title is held by the bank and will be delivered by mail from the bank. I have the registration an dup to date vehicle license. You will get the registration and a valid Bill of Sale that will help establsih your new ownership.
