1968 C10 shop truck build by design.Offered for a limited time is a frame off shop truck recently completed with 1000 miles on engine/trans/susp/tires etc.Build was started 2012.This truck was purchased for this style build/design.The C10 was originally red/orange/swb stepside/v8/3spd column shift from vin research. The swb truck when purchased had a straight body with minimal rust,white (older) paint job,350/350 engine/trans,sanded interior/5 lug conversion/auto trans steering column.Engine/trans pulled/sold.Truck was dis assembled,frame/trailing arms/cowl/ were soda blasted/painted.Chassis rebuilt front to back.The 454 was purchased from a running 80's C60 "SNAP-ON" tool truck and rebuilt/tested/break-in by HARTLINE MACHINE,Dodd City Tx.The TH400 was purchased from a local car builder out of a 1969 396 Chevelle, rebuilt by Kuston Built Transmissions, Denison,Tx. Stepside bed replaced with fleetside bed which was a long fleet bed shortened to short fleet.All the short fleetside beds we found were in unsatisfactory condition . We found 2 long fleetside beds, 1st one nice,2nd nicer condition,it was chosen using correct procedure to shorten.Inside bed prepped/primed,Bed floor was prepped/coated with 2 coats of POR15/black.Body/int was sanded/prepped/primed with a yellow primer,cab white primer.We use a process on the primer to give the effect of a faded paint job. Alot of people think it's paint.The primer used is compatible with all laquers/urethanes/primers.Custom painted door logo(my style).Stock new coils front/back with CPP 1.5 lowering blocks/u-bolts in back.New int/orig bench seat,int is simple/clean/plain. The molding/wheels/hub caps designed to give a simple clean look,and BFG radial TA's to complete the truck.Below is a list of facts/figures on this build.This truck rides/feels/sounds/steers/stops like a 68 C10, not a car.Fresh alignment and manual discs up front with the CPP sway bar kit performs nice.This little thumper is reminiscent of the 70's hot rod trucks running around our town at that time.Our builds are unique from the bling or skeletons/spiders/flat black paint.I do like rat rods but this is not one.This is a custom shop truck/muscle truck.The truck is a blast to drive and sounds vintage.You can cruise or....scat.The truck is very powerful.Alot of questions/looks/thumbs up/seniors interest,surprise when the hood is lifted.The initial plan was to plate the bed floor with 3/16 for weight/better traction,decision was to leave it stock for now, to much fun to drive.You can break the tires loose at will,this little truck moves out strong,pull's hard,she's QUICK.The tach reads around 3000 at 70mph which is why the 3.08 limited slip was chosen with the 3 spd TH400.The truck has been "babied" during break-in period.The cam choice was kept mild creating hp but smooth idle along with the new Holley she feels good.You can hear the Comp cam with very little vibration.With the glasspacks it has that BBC sound,crisp but not too loud.This was built to be a driver/weekender.This truck has less than 1000 miles and driven around town and a couple highway trips,stays inside a shop when not driven.No rain/snow/mud has touched her.This truck needs nothing unless desire to take to another level or add to it.Frame off build. FENDERS/HOOD: stock GRILLE/TRIM: new chrome on grille/headlight bezels/cab divider/tailgate/tailight bezels. PAINT/COLOR: pale yellow primer on body/white primer on cab, high heat low gloss under hood/firewall/inner fender wells,gray primer inside bed,bed floor por15 black,undercoat under bed/cab/fenderwells.
