Vehicle Detail

Unmolested 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner sedan, 383, four speed, 3.55 Sure Grip rear end. This car is a very good, virtually all original candidate for restoration. Still has the original window sticker from Reedman Corporation in Langhorne, PA. Green, black vinyl top with green bench seat interior, Sure Grip with 3.55:1 HD gears, slip drive fan, HP radiator, Road Runner Décor Group, Solid State AM radio with 8 track. Still also have owners manual and various paperwork that came with it new. Last inspection sticker on this car expired in February 1990. This car appears to be all original sans a replacement coil, distributor cap and plug wires. I've poured some gas in carb and the engine will fire; however, the carburetor needs a rebuild kit and I didn't see any point in it because the engine needs to be rebuilt. Nothing under the hood of the car appears to have been tampered with, wiring appears to all be intact, the heater core assembly has been removed for replacement at some time. I still have the complete unit and all the hardware that came off during removal by prior owner. The car shows 97,943 miles and I believe this to be accurate; however, I cannot prove this fact. VIN number, fender tag and window sticker all authenticate this car as a true 1968 Roadrunner sedan. At some point in the cars life someone decided to recover the original upholstery in diamond tucked green vinyl, the original door panels are still under the vinyl, the original dash pad was also recovered in green vinyl at that time. The dash of the car is complete, no major damage or modifications have been done to the interior with the exception of the seat and door panel covers. All the glass in the car is in very good condition and none of it requires replacement. The body of the car is in very good condition considering the age of the car attrition rate of the cars throughout their lives. The lower quarters will need to be patched along with the couple places above the rear fender well on the passenger side. The rockers show some minor rust that can easily be patched. The trunk floor and floor pans of the car are solid, they do show some surface rust, but they are not rusted through. The vinyl top was removed before I got the car, there is some surface rust on the top of the car and a couple different kinds of primer someone shot on it to try to prevent it from further rust, there is not any rust through on the top of the car, it is very solid, even around often rotted rear window corners. There is a place on the lower passenger door about the size of a silver dollar that needs to be patched, other than these places, this is a very solid car. Under the hood, trunk, doors, rockers, fender wells, firewalls is all in impeccable condition for one of these cars. I would not replace any metal on this car other than two patch panels for rear lower quarters, the rest can be repaired. The gas tank also still appears to be solid, fuel gauge still works when you put power on the car as do the lights. Car still has factory magnum wheels, I just put a new set Cooper Cobra white letters on it, left the blue protection layer on it to keep from messing up the letters, still have original "red streak" spare tire for the car. All interior components are there for the car as well, I have been able to account for all pieces of the car with the only exception being the two door emblems which I'm certain a prior owner kept for a keepsake. If you have any questions please ask before bidding, I have more pics available if you need to see certain aspects of the car. Shipping will be the responsibility of the buyer. $500.00 deposit due with 24 hours of auction close and final payment due within 7 days of end of auction.
