Please do not bid on this car if you do not intend to purchase it after winning. *** Up for sale is a 1978 black Firebird Trans am. the following describes the car: 400 Pontiac bored to 407 ci (1974 motor) 750 Quadrajet carb 700R4 4L60E automatic transmission Speed Shifter with reverse lockout posi-traction rear end Double roller timing chain roller tip rockers True dual 2.5" aluminized exhaust with 3 chamber flowmaster mufflers. Full headman headers 6x heads (ported and polished) Crane cam (216 duration, 454 lift) a/c works, but will leak freon over the course of seval months. Pioneer cd player with 3-way 6x9 pioneer rear deck speakers. New starter and battery. All decals except pinstripes are hand painted on the car. Car runs perfectly with no (ZERO) issues. Pat the gas 3 times in the morning and crank. No need to pat the gas on subsequent starts during the day. Literally 1 drip per week of oil from the oil plug. And literally 2 drips per week of transmission fluid coming from the speedometer gear housing on transmission (A $13 fix). Head lights work as is on dims. For brights to work it needs a new dimmer switch ($12 And 2 screws) from a local parts house. The seal around the rear windshield drips if in a driving rain. It is a minor leak, not a major one. I do not have a chrome remover tool or I'd fix it myself. A local body shop can repair for $50. As most old cars do, the dash has cracks. At the time of rebuild I didn't have enough money to fix it so I bought a dash pad to go over it that's custom for a Trans Am dash. The pad covers the cracks entirely. This is not a show car but is in excellent condition. It is not an original car. The VIN reads as a Firebird, but has all Trans Am features. Since rebuild of the drive train approximately 25k miles. I have no way of knowing how many miles on the body. I have tons of pictures available on a Google drive. Please request them ONLY IF YOU ARE SERIOUS about possible purchase.
