Vehicle Detail
Need gone ASAP to close on a new home. Stunning 1976 Porsche 911 Targa Turbo Wide Body in triple black. By far the best looking Targa I have ever seen. Interior is in great shape for its age, dash is not cracked and seats are near perfect. Door cards need tightening up or replaced. Had plans to install RS panels. Huge aggressive rear end and big off set tires on 2 piece wheels. Paint is in fair shape for an older restoration and looks amazing from 10 feet or 80 mph. Couple small bubbles and scratches. Body is VERY solid with no rust repairs needed. This car draws a crowd of all kinds of people. Original motor and transmission 2.7L rebuilt 1200 miles ago for something north of $7K by previous owner, a restaurateur out of NY. Wide body from a turbo welded on over 20 years ago looks amazing. No comparison to a narrow bodied 911 of the age. Skirt also steel welded, you can stand on them. Adds stiffness lost in a Targa which is why it was done. Doors open and close like new. Slight battery drain if left unattended for a couple days, add battery switch. Doubles as a theft deterrent! (couldn't figure it out, not terribly good with electronics) Also some gauges need to be re-hooked up after troubleshooting. Leaves some oil after sitting, looks to be from valve covers. Have some on order, may get to it. This car has been a nice weather driver for the past several years. Starts, runs good, very quick, sounds like only an air-cooled 911 6 does, stops better than any '76 I've driven super straight, steering is super responsive, shifts smooth (just replaced shift bushings/coupler) and stays cool all day. There are some things to address and likely will be as long as you own it given that it is a classic car, but this Porsche is an exceptional example for its age that will surely climb in value without needing anything major to enjoy it while it does. In the right hands this could be an insane restoration project. I am selling the Porsche to buy a home. *Tail light in pic replaced with OEM new. Have clear open title for new buyer. Will take more pics and add in coming days. Selling as-is. Deposit due as stated in listing, non refundable. Listing local and therefor reserve the right to pull the listing if sold. Willing to help coordinate shipping and sort of familiar with the process so it should go smoothly. Shipping expense is buyers responsibility. Paid before it goes of course. Please ask me any and all questions before you bid if needed. I am a completely candid straight forward guy and will be glad to do my best in making you comfortable with the purchase. Expected pick up within 5 weeks of purchase or will charge storage of $10 daily beyond 5 weeks. I'm not a jerk, so I will be reasonable about holdups with notice, however I can't care for the car beyond 5 weeks without making arrangements. It's a killer car, and a lifetime experience that I will cherish having owned it. Best of luck. CheersOn Feb-19-15 at 14:46:39 PST, seller added the following information: *Lots of calls so I will update as we go the best I can some of the questions and answers for everyone to see. Mileage is UNKNOWN if exact as per the title states EXEMPT per year of car. I have no other way to verify the actual mileage.Front left tire has a slow leak, easy tire to find. Rear tires are great and do not rub anywhere.Paint is not original as it was restored in the past, before my taking ownership of the carUnfortunately do not have paperwork for the rebuild. Going off previous owners word.Paint is not perfect but very good for its age and would clean up further, very easily. Still have not sorted out what's draining the battery. Will likely not get to it by end of listing.Including a few miscellaneous parts for the interior. Floor console, switches for windows, rear panels, etc.. I welcome anyone to come view the car in person before bidding. Currently in a heated garage, which is heavily insulated by a ridiculous amount of snow =) Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Buy it now is $20K which is a killer deal for this car and less than I have into her. I am also listing a boat locally (good season to sell a boat....) and if that sells first this car will be coming with me to its new garage!
