Vehicle Detail
Up for your consideration is my 1931 Chevrolet 5-Window Coupe. The car runs great and is inspected through July. I've removed the fiberglass fenders, running boards, filler panels, etc..., as I like the open wheel hot rod look. I have all the parts and they are included in the auction. My plans were to chop the roof 3-4" and leave the hood and side covers on. It has a tilt column from I believe a Chevy Van, and the seat is from an S10. The engine is a mild 350, maybe 275 horsepower, with a "like new" Edelbrock 650 cfm Thunder series carburetor with electric choke and the "Endurashine" finish. It also has high quality Sanderson headers and 2-1/2" dual exhaust with welded, single chambered mufflers. Sounds as good as it goes! The body is decent but would need work to be a show car. That was not my plan. I just wanted a rat/hot rod. The frame had one crossmember cut out, and the one under the bellhousing has been trimmed for the Turbo 400 trans to fit. Someone welder a support strip on it, but it's a poor job and will need redone. The gauges all function, and the lights, including the turn signals, worked. They just need re-installed.It has disc brakes up front that are like new, and the rear differential is out of a '55 or '56 Chevy Belair. It has a new Vega steering box, new aluminum radiator, and the fuel tank is also new.The windows, including the windshield, are all new laminated safety glass. The wood kit (body cage) and floors are newer. I've flipped three of the front leaf springs to lower it 2.5" up front. The chrome shocks were removed during the spring flip, but they come with the car. It actually rides good without them, as flipping three springs in the opposite direction creates a dampening effect. It could use new tires, and I planned on installing 2 inch taller and roughly 1-1/2" wider tires in the rear to give it one more inch of rear height for even more of a hot rod rake. Feel free to call me at 724-523-2947 for more info or to discuss offers and payment options. I'm located just off US Route 30, about 4.5 miles east of PA Turnpike exit 67, or about 30 miles east of Pittsburgh, PA. My zip code is 15644. The title has been applied for and should be here in a week or so. It will be clear and in my name. I recently purchased a '55 Second Series Chevy Truck and no longer have the time or money to complete the '31. These cars are rare and hard to find in any condition, so please, no lowball offers. Thanks, Steve
