Vehicle Detail
1970 Triumph TR6, excellent Condition with Many Extras Very fine example of a desirable early TR6. (Pre-emission controls and big rubber bumpers). Damson with black interior. Urethane high gloss clear coat over Damson (as original paint). Chrome is in decent shape and presentable, but could be improved by rechroming the bumpers. Excellent tires (larger than originals) on real 7X15 Panasports. Engine compartment is clean, but not detailed. Soft top with clear zip out window with original style reflective stripes, excellent boot cover and tonneau cover. No rips in these or the seats. The 5 speed HVDA transmission conversion makes this a first class long distance interstate cruiser and provides better fuel economy than the standard Triumph 4 speed transmission. In December I took the car on a 4,000 mile plus trip where I averaged 23 MPG and saw speeds as high as 95MPH. Twin Webers with K & N air filters, stage 2 cam, tubular headers and twin exhaust pipes make noticeably more than standard horse power yet the combination is driver friendly. All gauges, lights, etc. operate properly. This thoughtfully modified TR6 has been well maintained and is ready to drive. The exhaust note is great easing down the road with the top down. A great looking fun to drive car! List of Upgrades and Additions: Silky smooth Toyota 5-speed transmission conversion with hydraulic clutch (HDVA). Over $2,000 plus shipping. Limited slip rear differential from a Nissan 300ZX (Richard Good). Over $2,000 plus shipping. Dual Weber DGV Carburetors with Pierce Intake Manifolds & K & N air filters. Over $1,235 plus shipping. Free flow tubular exhaust header with dual exhaust pipes. I believe these are stainless. Stage 2 cam. The power band for the stage 2 cam is 2,500-6,000 rpm. The S-2 cam was the only factory TR6 performance cam recommended for street use. Cylinder heads ported and polished during refresh in October 2014. Rear tube shock absorbers. This conversion kit is $240 plus shipping. 7" Panasport wheels with almost new 215 X 15 tires. Chrome acorn lugnuts. Over $1,467 plus shipping. Convertible top with factory style reflective stripes and zip out rear window. Solid rust-free frame and body (Semi Annually re-treated with WaxOil) Refinished dashboard, alloy valve cover & spin on oil filter kit In 2013 I did a complete brake system overhaul/replacement including new pads, shoes, calipers, master cylinder, all hoses and lines. I installed an Art Lip sourced, American made aluminum Radiator and electric fan, the Patton Machine fan delete, and a Richard Good radiator shroud. Also replaced the thrust washer. Replaced the harmonic Balancer. Installed electronic ignition. Recovered the seats. Calibrated the speedometer. Replaced the engine mounts and fuel pump. Installed halogen headlights with dedicated power supply. Replaced alternator with a 1-wire GM alternator. This car is as reliable as any modern car. The original transmission, carburetors, rear differential, wheels and caps are all included in the sale as well as the Service manual. The vehicle history back to 1986 is known and a copy will be provided. This is an outstanding car. Values have been steadily rising. The appraised value of this car for insurance purposes is $23,000 and I have invested well over $30,000 in this car. I selling it to raise money for a new business venture as I am retiring from my current employment. $15,900 is a great price but I am open to other offers.
