Vehicle Detail
1999 YAMAHA R7 0W-2. The bike is perfect. has about 1800 miles on it. Full factory YEC racing kit installed. This includes the kit fuel injectors, ignition, radiator shroud/mod, titanium Promotive full exhaust so this example is making about 150 rear wheel hp. Also included are two boxes of unopened YEC kit parts. Currently has Marchesini wheels but will be sold with the perfect stock wheels with stock tires. This is the bike to show case in your collection. I have two of them so this one needs to find a new home. I will assist with arranging shipping but all shipping costs will be the buyers expense. I can be reached at bocco1@optonline.net or my cell is 1-203-515-5146 if you have any questions. Don't let this one get away! Good Luck!! thanks Pete 1/22/15..... Ok just to clarify things about this bike. First off it's not a bored out R6, it's not a R1 with a "special body kit", it's not Haga's ex-race bike R7. Wow!! With that cleared up please let me tell you the missing bolt from the upper fairing has been reinstalled by a factory trained mechanic :) , the crank recall was done at 400 KM according to the prior owner and the dealer i purchased it from 7 years ago, I might have some paper to prove it but can't guarantee it, and finally the stock wheels in come installed on the bike becuase the White Machesini's go on one of my race bikes. I am collector of awesome bikes and love to show them and ride them. So this bike was ridden rather than rolled into living room and left idle. It is mechanically perfect and a 9.5 out of 10 cosmetically. If you are truly interested in this R7 you are an avid enthusiast and know how rare this is and that the opportunity to get your hands of one of these beauties does not happen often. good luck! 'This has to be the greatest looking road bike ever to roll out of Japan, no question. The R7 somehow manages to be aggressive, pretty, perfectly formed and exotic in one utterly balanced package.' – Performance Bikes magazine. Like its OW-01 predecessor, the YZF-R7 (also known as the OW-02) owed its existence to the Hamamatsu factory's need for a World Superbike Championship contender. It was produced in relatively limited quantities, only 500 being made to meet the Championship's homologation requirements, of which only 56 were earmarked for the United States. Road-going versions are rare and genuine race bikes even rarer, and despite their relative modernity both are highly sought after by collectors. The YZF-R7 was powered by a 749cc four-cylinder engine incorporating Yamaha's then favoured five-valves-per-cylinder technology. In road-going form this produced a relatively uninspiring 107bhp but with the race kit fitted the second bank of fuel injectors was brought into play, liberating 139 horsepower, while in full race trim over 160bhp was attainable. The geometry of the aluminium alloy Deltabox II frame was based on that of the firm's YZR500 Grand Prix racers and the R7 came with the best suspension Öhlins could offer, which in part justified the eye-watering list price of $33,000In the World Superbike Championship, the R7's most successful exponent by far was Noriyuki Haga. Racing the Michelin-shod factory bike in its debut 1999 season, Haga could manage only a solitary win but switching to Dunlops for 2000 made all the difference. By this time, racing a 750cc four against 1,000cc twins was reckoned a lost cause but Haga nevertheless won seven races that year to finish 2nd in the Championship behind Honda's Colin Edwards.
