Vehicle Detail
Completely stock unmolested 1984 Honda V65 Sabre. This is the first of the sport touring motorcycle genre,. It comes with a color matched Hondaline fairing specifically made for the Sabre. It appears that the fairing is complete with mount, mirrors, windshield, lowers and installation instruction booklet. It is not currently mounted but is in good condition. This motorcycle runs and shifts as it should. It is not without a flaw or two but is in very good condition for a 30 year old motorcycle. It is a very fun vintage motorcycle that hauls a**. 1/4 mile times in the high 10's by an experienced rider. Americans love performance, so Honda gained lots of fans with the V65 Sabre™. The bike stood out from the crowd not only because of its record-shattering quarter-mile performance. The 65? That referred to the motor's displacement in cubic inches; metrically, it packed a whopping 1098cc. The Sabre was a high-tech performance machine that broke the mold. Not a cruiser, a standard, or a sportbike, the Sabre had a style all its own, and boasted the kind of stump-pulling engine performance that the inline fours of the day couldn't match. The powerplant featured liquid-cooling, twin-cam heads, a six-speed gearbox and a low-maintenance shaft final drive. The chassis components were equally impressive; cast six-spoke wheels front and back, single-shock rear suspension and a beefy 41mm leading axle fork with Honda's TRAC® anti-dive system. On top of that, the Sabre is smooth, versatile and comfortable enough for touring. On Jan-02-15 at 09:32:39 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a couple questions, I bought this from a customer and cleaned the carbs and synchronized them. I worked in a Honda shop for 30+ years and was a technician when these were new. With that said I have NO personal history with bike. I can tell you that it sounds good and rides/drives good. It is an above average Sabre with low miles. It comes with the owners manual. It comes with the manual to install the fairing. Why isn't the fairing on? I don't know I assume the previous owner didn't want to ride with one. What are the tires like? They are Dunlop 404's front and rear with about 3/4 tread they are not weather cracked. I have no idea how old they are. I would ride them til they are gone or i couldn't stand them anymore (because there are better tires than Dunlops).Suspension works as it should with no leaks, that doesn't mean that a 30 year old fork seal won't start leaking by the time you get it home. There is a scratch on the face of the speedometer. I tried to submit a picture of that but must have had to much coffee because it's blurry. It has stock mirrors and stock grips. I want you to be happy, if you get here and find it to be a total piece of crap we will cancel the sale (honestly you would be one hard to please fella to think that). But keep in mind it is 30 years old!!!!You are certainly welcome to come and see it in person.Bill
