Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is the newly restored 1956 mustang. The restoration of this car was finished in July of 2014. this car is a factory 289 V8 car with factory 5 lug wheels The engine and its components are date coded 1965. In the later years ford did not use the vin numbers to identify engines , transmission or rear axles. Unlike chevy or dodge. But this car is date coded 1965. This car runs and drives excellent it goes down the road straight everything works as it should light, heater, wipers, horns, the doors, hood, trunk all open and close as they should . This mustang was completely dismantled. Stripped to bare metal and all the glass was removed. Both floor pans were replaced The were professional fit and welded in using the lap joint and skip welding procedure inside and under side then urethane seam sealed on both sides. The sub body to floor supports were replaced as well. The core support ,battery box and right side front frame rail were replaced as well. These are problem ares due to Leakey batteries. Now going to the back of the car the rear outer sections of the inner fenders were replaced on both sides. Properly welded and urethane seam sealed as well. The right and left side trunk floor to quarter panel sections are new as well. At some time in the mid 90's both rear quarter skins were replaced. They are in great condition with no rust in the bottoms and the workmanship looked excellent. The hood ,trunk lid, and doors are factory ford parts. door hinges have been rebuilt. The front fenders are new aftermarket as well as the head light assembly’s. The dash has been cut for a stereo system. The flowing items have been replaced with new parts this in July of 2014 Brake system. All four drums, all steel and rubber lines, wheel cylinders, master cylinder, shoes and all hard wear. Seals and felts. Both front and rear windshield gaskets, door seals, trunk seal, window felts, cowl seal, bumpers and trim. Both front and rear bumpers, door handles. All window trim, grill. Horse and coral. Tale lights, headlights, turn signals, all emblems radio antenna, gas cap, and bumper guards, wiper arms, and side mirror Heater. All hoses, the heater core, radiator and blower box assembly, all ducting, and vents Front suspension. All tie rods, upper and lower ball joints both sides, upper a arm shafts both sides, strut bar bushings, shock absorbers, four wheel alignment and 4 new tires Rear suspension. Rear shocks, shackles , bushings, and all new u joints Engine and transmission. I do not have the the paper work proving the work done but I can provide the contact info of the last owner who spent $1600 on the engine. So here is the info he gave me on this. Hot tanked, new soft plugs, new pistons .040 over on the cylinder bores, crank is .010 and .010 under the heads have hard seats for unleaded fuel, new oil pump, re-sized rods, balanced, new water pump, starter, alternator, rebuilt 2 barrel carburetor and distributor, new exhaust manifolds, The transmission has new seals and bearings, resurfaced fly wheel and clutch, all new clutch linkage, throw out bearing, pilot bushing. This is a three speed transmission less than 1000 miles since rebuild. Interior. New floor sound deadening pad, fire wall insulation pad, door panels, carpet, headliner, rear package tray, glove box, door sill plates, rear seat belts, “it never had them in the rear” interment cluster bezel, the dash pad is perfect no warping or cracks. Wiring. The engine harness and head light harness are new, New ignition switch, turn-signal switch and heater switch. This car was restored back to original specs. This is a factory white car three speed manual transmission 289V8 with no power steering no power brakes. It is a bit of a 50 year old survivor as it retains its original running gear. It has no evidence of any damage due to collision or wrecks. I am the 4 th owner. It is registered and tilted in my name. Over all I would rate this car as a 8 on a 1 to 10 Rating the paint has been cut with 2000 grit and buffed 95% of the imperfections have been removed the finish reflects well and is real shinny. This is often hard to achieve with white. The body has a few slight imperfections that got by the painter but nothing major or real noticeable you would see them more if the car was painted black . This car was restored as a driver car one that could be used. For local car shows and the price of under 11k reflects that.
