1974 BMW 2002 Excellent condition in and out. Tasteful upgrades during my 16 years of ownership. Looks amazing, drives the same. 140,xxx Mi. The highlights:Full shell tear-down (see pics) and respray [Cherry Red base/clear Glasurit paint] completed in 2005 and garaged ever since. New genuine BMW gaskets/trim at that time, including doors, windshield, etc. ~40,xxx miles on complete engine overhaul [bottom/top] which included 9.5:1 piano-top pistons, 300 Korman cam, Weber 38/38 on bored intake, new valve guides/springs/retainers, all reciprocating parts balanced. Curt Ingram radiator [Silicone Garage], SPAL fan. Pertronics, Bosche Blue coil, recent cap, rotor, wires. New electric rotary-vane fuel pump. 5-sp conversion by Korman Autoworks, 3.90 diff. Bilstein sports (front and rear), H&R springs, and Suspension Techniques 22/19 sway bars, e30 alloy wheels, Race-Tep strut brace, Urethane bushings. Black cloth Recaro front seats, Momo Monte Carlo steering wheel, New ABS plastic door cards with new World Uph Vinyl, New Headliner, like-new BMW 535 sun visors, new carpet, new floor mats. All receipts and a thick folder full of detailed records from the day i took ownership 16 years ago. It's not perfect:First and foremost, this is a driver's car and not a garage queeen. As such, I have tried with the pics to capture the vehicle's present beauty as well as its warts, which are few. it has minimal rust in the traditional weak-spots for 2002's; one spot on the driver-rear outer qtr-panel, some near the driver frame rail/pedal box. small spot in the spare tire well. Small spot beside the fuel tank. very small bubbling low edge of driver door and driver rear wheel lip. I have kept watch over each spot and none of them seem to have grown during my 16 year ownership. I don't feel that any of these areas represent at this stage, a risk to the vehicle's future or its driveability. I must mention that each shock tower is impeccable, which is increasingly hard to find. The engine is strong and has beautiful compression, but you're gonna see oil on it - it's a driver. The front main seal has always left small spots on my garage floor, but again has not worsened over time - i've never had to add oil between changes. Also, while the interior carpet is brand-new, it has not yet been glued-down for permanent install. I long intended to line the floor with Dynomat, but it never happened. Also, i'm a big person and prefer not to have a center console - so this car doesn't have one. Additional notes (please read):All are welcomed and encouraged to come view the vehicle if you're in the area. I will take you for a spirited drive, but I WILL drive the car while it's still mine :). I hold the title and it is clean. Buyer is responsible for pick-up or transport. i sincerely encourage pick-up rather than transport if you are within 500 miles - it wants to be driven. All of that being said, the car is sold as is, no warranty stated or implied. ** Thule rack and euro plate are NOT included!!! (if auction ends well-enough above my reserve, i will throw-in the roof rack if the buyer wants it).
