1961 Ford Falcon - 60's Style Gasser Hello and thanks for looking at my auction! This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION!!! If you are looking for a unique one of a kind 1960's era Grunge Street Legal Drag Car.....then here you go! This car was built with lots of ONE off machined components that were designed for this build, you wont find many of these items anywhere else, and that is what makes this Falcon stand out from the others you will see..... It has a "Barn Fresh Grunge" look to it with lots of natural patina along with updated systems to make it a pleasure to drive - such as updated electrical, brake system, complete driveline (fresh motor, trans and rear end), that has been cleanly assembled but was painted/finished to resemble and complete the "Barn Fresh Grunge" look. By doing this everything looks proper to the build and feel of the car having been "found" as it sits today - being from the 60's - but it is a FRESH new build! The car has a hard core nostalgia Gasser look AND a motor to back it up - both in sound and power! It is nasty, quick, mean, loud, shakes, rattles your teeth and rolls the rubber right off the pie crust slicks if you mash the huge Moon throttle pedal to the floor. This is a STREET LEGAL car - titled in the state of Missouri in my name and has passed the state of Missouri vehicle inspection process and has current tags. I purchased this vehicle about 5 years ago. When I got the Falcon it already had a full frame(2x3 tied to the front frame rails with factory firewall), tubs & aluminum, floor pans and truck, and 10 point roll cage installed and a Mustang II coil over rack and pinion front end with a 4 link 9 inch rear end. At the time of purchasing the car I was not interested in building a pro-street Falcon, but rather a mid 60's style gasser Vintage Drag replica. Which is what you see here before you! Here are some of the features I want to point out that I have done to the car to get it to what you see in the photos. BODY:While the Falcon is a 1961 - I like the looks of the 62 grill, fenders and tail lights.Crites Fiberglass Teardrop hood - with lighten hood hinges Paint is DuPont Nason 421 Urethane BUFF Primer with Duplicolor satin black roof with gold pinstripe accents around the black on roof and teardrop..Bobbed front fenders (4"), custom lower floating grill bars, modified grill to fit Moon tank (by the way....the tank up front isn't just decoration....its soul purpose is to hold our Margaritas at the H.A.M.B. drags party in Joplin....its got a spigot underneath! ...we call it our 500HP Margarita mixer!) and custom tow bar brackets added to front.Custom made core support, machined aluminum fender braces, hood pins plates, windshield wiper caps, fuel gage mount, fender well header heat shields, trunk hinges, side mirror, rear window retaining plates, and lots of little turned aluminum parts/plates and accent details.Custom machined rear bumper, brackets, caps and new custom lightened rear pan, as well as Swiss cheesed trunk lid.Rear gas cap is machined alum, to look stock but is the safety switch on/off - turn one way for power - the other to disconnect (no updated switches out back - keeping with the 60's vibe!)New/vintage race-performance decals were added to rear windows - weathered to look old.All glass is original - no cracks but the usual chips and scratches for glass that is almost 50 years old!Car is solid - no rust, but has fit and finish of "Barn Fresh Grunge" find of a 60's Gasser - meaning this car is an ex-drag car,its NOT PERFECT! CHASSIS:Mustang II/ rack and pinion/ adjustable coil over front end with all new disc brakes up front, and drum rear.Willwood master cylinder/remote reservoir/proportioning valve and Willwood pedal assembly with custom Moon pedal.Complete brake system is all new, and has all new brake lines front to rear.9 inch with 31 spline moser axles and 5:13 gears in full spool - 4 link rear suspension setup with adjustable coil overs- panhard bar and drive shaft loop front and rear.Fuel cell in truck(12 gal) with new Big End (Holley blue) fuel pump and new lines run to engine.Aluminum floors with steel tubs WHEELS & TIRESNEW - Wheel Vintiques 15x4 Gasser fronts with 145R15 Nankang Radial tiresVintage US MAG 15x10 Slotted Mags on rear with NEW Hurst Pie Crust Slicks (grooved) 30x10x15 Radials - Custom one off machined wheel plates. Both front and rear wheels are finished in a vintage Magnesium tinted color to replicate that 60's vintage drag car vibe! INTERIOR10 point cage that fits the car perfectly, easy to get in and out!. Vintage Superior 500 wood steering wheel on a custom machined hub with custom steering column and support bracket and new blinker switch (mounted on right side of column for easy entry).New 5 point safety harness (both sides) with NEW low back bucket seats, custom made brackets and a really cool foot rest on the passenger side floor ...and carpeted pads.NEW Vintage Autometer tach with custom mount, custom radio delete plate, and Moon gauges (oil, temp, amp), custom mounted shift light tucked away behind the factory temp light in factory dash pod (again keeping the current items out of site to retain the 60's vibe!)NEW B&M Quick Silver ratchet shifter mounted into a custom machined 60's style shifter box.Custom switch panel box mounted behind shift console that features starter/ignition, windshield wipers, headlights, horn. (all knobs on dash for these items are non functioning but have vintage knobs to again keep the feel of the build.Custom tonneau cover over rear seat area keeping with the 60's vibe of the car.Moon throttle pedal with custom machined throttle linkage with adjustable bell crank on firewall.Fire extinguisher mounted in passenger side /front of seat. MOTOR & TRANS:1970 High Nickel block & crankRoss Forged Aluminum pistons - 11.25 to 1 compressionEdelbrock Victor JR aluminum heads with Crane Roller Rockers and stud girdleComp Cams .592 lift / with a 260 degree duration - grind number 31-336-4Edelbrock Performer Dual Plane RPM intake with 780 Holley vacuum secondaryMallory Comp 9000 distributor - with new wires, plugs and coilAir cleaner and valve covers were sand blasted to give a vintage/natural look and I added badges to replicate vintage race gear.FRESHENED MOTOR - less than 500 miles on rebuild - here is what I had done to it when rebuilt; New rings (.030 over), new bearings (crank and rods .020 over), Ross Pistons were sent out to Swain Coatings for polly/molly coating on skirts. And obviously all new gaskets and fluids - and final assembly of motor was done by Guy Orr at Mother's Speed Shop in Springfield, Missouri (they have been in business building engines since the late 60's). Custom Fender Well Headers built using a Schofield header kit as the base - then heavily modified to dump out behind the front tires - with block plates and full exhaust that features 32 inch header mufflers that exit behind the driver - corked the car has a mean sound - un corked.....you know you have a Drag car! This motor sounds nasty, and ran 11:82 BEFORE the rebuild in a street legal 68 Mustang. Engine sounded great & ran fine when I purchased it to put into the Falcon BUT I wanted to make sure it was FRESH just in case I wanted to see how it would do down the track in my car!Transmission is a Small Block C-6 rebuilt by "Ray John's Hot Rod Shop" in Fairgrove Missouri. New pump, bands, clutches, gaskets, shift kit and fluid and a New 2600 Stall street converter. The car is a blast to drive and turns heads where ever I take it. I must say this is NOT a Highway car but I do drive the car around town on a regular basis to shows and cruise nights and has been huge hit the past two years at the HAMB Drags/show in Joplin every summer. This car is ALWAYS stored/garaged in side. has never been out in the elements since I have owned it. You can leave this car AS-IS and enjoy having a one off creation that truly captures the essence of what a 60's Gasser is OR you can spend a little time, blow the car apart and finish to show quality standards. Everything I have done on the car is top shelf, not letting money drive this build. The next owner of this Falcon will not be disappointed! $1,000 deposit due within 24 hours of the close of auction. I can store the vehicle for up to 30 days at no additional expense AS LONG AS PAYMENT IS MADE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF CLOSE OF AUCTION - Final payment will need to be made by bank Transfer or in CASH at time of pick up - NO EXCEPTIONS! Shipping of vehicle is up to buyer. I will help load vehicle if needed. Good luck, and if you have any questions at all feel free to PM me and I will answer back as soon as possible.
