Vehicle Detail
THE GOOD: Up for auction is a solid F-250 XLT, Super Duty, 4x4, Manual, 7.3L Diesel with a factory 2" lift. I am the third owner of this truck. The truck was originally used as a work truck for a company in Nevada towing fifth wheel trailers. Then to my Dad who worked for the same company. The maintenance was always up kept with all the vehicles in the fleet. The truck has always used a synthetic or synthetic blend. Either Mobile1 or Motorcarft. I recently had the truck serviced by Ford with a fresh oil change for the winter. I also had Ford test all connections and computers and sensors. It had a problem with the truck dying shortly after starting. After replacing the ICP and IDM once, the same problem happened only a few weeks later. The first time I had the work done by an aftermarket shop to try and save some money, which it did not. This time, Ford was able to test all connections and thoroughly check the full electrical system on the fuel side and main computer side. It ended up being a few corroded or broken connectors causing the components to go bad. so here are all the new parts and work that is new as of 250,000 miles. New battery junction block, new Optima red top batteries, new fuseable link, new fuel heater and filter, new K&N air filter, new Glow Plug Relay, new ICP sensor, new CPS sensor, new IDM with an improved corrosion resistant box, new headlight bulbs, back up light bulbs, new rear calipers and brake pads. New driveline carrier bearing, new u-joints for the rear driveline, new pinion rear seal (was leaking) for the 10.5 axle with mobile1 full synthetic rearend fluid with addiditive for the limited slip. I have a Haynes repair manual for the truck. I have the original owners manual and 7.3L engine guide in the original case. I have all the receipts and paperwork for the work i have had done, and for the parts I put on myself. THE BAD: Here is the work still outstanding that the truck needs to be fully back up to par: the right ABS sensor cable was ripped off and needs replaced. The cable is $40 on rockauto.com. The clutch is worn. Does not slip and I still drive it daily, but the pressure plate is worn so it is taking longer to spool down and go into first gear upon stopping. But have had no other issues with the 6 speed, it has never slipped. All of the shocks need replaced, on a bumpy road, you can tell they are worn. The tires on the rear are near bald and the front tires only have about 1/4 life left in them. They are wearing quickly because of the worn shocks. THE UGLY: The truck has a rebuilt title. As you can see in the pictures, the rear driver side pillar and both left doors where hit by a fifth wheel trailer. My dad was towing a heavy trailer down a snowy road when the trailer came around and smacked the truck pretty hard. I already replace the driver door, but the rear door is still banged up and has plexy glass in the door along with the left side back window. The insurance company wanted to replace the entire cab, so they decided to total the truck instead because of the age and cost at the time of the accident. it is purely cosmetic, all the frame and all else where not damaged. That is when my dad purchased the truck form his company and starting fixing it, bringing it back to a drivable condition again. And since getting the truck from my dad, I further brought the truck further up to standard. But the truck does still need some more love. I was able to replace the driver door so that I had a working window to make coming onto base each day, but other then that, I am not sure how to go about repairing the back cab corner. good thing is that the door does match up to the corner so no leaks. but once you repair the corner, you will have to have a new rear door to go on. The vehicle is being sold as-is. I am willing to work with your shipper.
