The 840 has factory Jet Black paint that was just fully buffed and hand waxed. This car shows fading on the hood and trunk lid and various other imperfections but shows no history of accident damage or any corrosion, as all body lines are correct and body panels all in excellent shape with no damage. The tires have good tread life all the way around but are showing their age with some cracking on the side walls and tread blocks and should be replaced. The rest of the car does not show any wear outside of the normal amount to be expected at this mileage. The black on black color scheme ads a bit of class to this already top notch Ultimate Driving Machine. The beautiful black leather interior and is all original and looks excellent for its age and mileage. The sport seats really contour well to your body and steering wheel has a very good feel in your hands. All of the trim is in excellent condition. The car has complete set of tools, jack, and original spare. The car is suffering from several issues which are all common to 8-series and mid 90s BMWs in general and can be fixed over time by anyone with mechanical knowledge, or find a good local BMW tech and knock them out. Items currently needing repair: Both power seats need attention, power antenna inop, power sunroof will tilt but not slide (we believe the shade is off the track), drivers seat back will not release and push forward, window control module is intermittent, drivers door lock acts up, trunk mechanism is hit or miss, and im sure the new owner will stumble across a few more minor issues. This car was taken in on trade and we have decided to move it as is and sell it at a very fair price. The car will also include all of its original books, quick reference guides, service history, and even original window sticker! Mechanically, this 840ci runs and drives great. It has very healthy and very quick 4.0L 8-Cyl. that is very strong and a 5 Speed Automatic transmission that shifts perfect. The motor puts out 280hp and is plenty to move this nimble coupe around. The car has just been looked at by a BMW specialist and he suggests some bushing work up front as all of the front rubbers are original and 20 years old and have 113k on them. Rear mufflers have a small rust hole in each. Valve covers are leaking some oil. Other than that the car starts up great, has no check engine lights, A/C blows Ice cold, and all other systems seem sound. The car also has no problem passing Arizona emissions. This car is ready to go and is in excellent condition inside and out.
