Vehicle Detail
It is time to part with our Eurovan. I have extensive maintenance records for this car dating back to 2003, when new. I am the 2nd owner and took possession of the van with 135,xxx. Original owner's records show scheduled oil changes since new. Under my care, it has benefited from Mobil1 15w-50 exclusively, paired with Mann oil filters, at strict 5K mi intervals. Since taking ownership, i have also done the transmission oil service regularly (pan drop, filter change, using Mobil1 ATF). The van shifts as it should. The interior is quite clean, and the mechanicals are in order other than detailed below. the heat is hot and the A/C is cold. No Check Engine Light, No codes. The car has Bilstein HD shocks, a drop-in K&N air filter, and new cabin filter. The tires are nearly new Kuhmo Road Venture APT KL51 XL 104H (235/60R16). It even has a billet accessory tension belt with sealed bearing from germanautoparts.com. The point is that I intended to keep this car for the long-haul and serviced it accordingly. Unfortunately, the torque converter seal failed 2 months ago, so it will no longer hold the proper amount of transmission fluid. The car is perfectly driveable for a trip around the block and even for a quick highway test run (shifts perfectly in all gears), but the seal repair is required to put the van in regular service. As such, the van is now parked - awaiting repair by the next owner. Worthy of note, i was planning the timing chain service very soon, and i would recommend that to the new owner while the transmission work takes place. The exterior has normal wear-and-tear for a car this age, but the clearcoat is in very good shape. There is aesthetic damage to the passenger side sliding door and also a scrape on the passenger front fender. I have tried to capture those spots with the images. I suppose someone could use the van for parts, but it seems like a waste given the overall condition of the car.
