The 1955 introduction of the sleek, envelope-bodied MGA Roadster certainly shocked some purists, but marquee enthusiasts received an exciting preview. Prior to its official launch at Frankfurt, three aluminum-bodied prototypes were entered at Le Mans. As a result, the MGA was launched with a solid competition pedigree, ensuring its acceptance in the market and the United States in particular, where the bulk of production was destined. With a cosmetic and mechanical restoration performed in the early 2000’s, this beautiful car has been driven regularly and lovingly maintained ever since. Finished in red paintwork over tan upholstery with black carpeting and painted disc wheels, the Roadster presents itself in nice driver’s condition - easily displayed and driven with great pride. A slight patina is visible on the trim and areas of the bright work. Complete servicing records from the last decade, and May 2013 includes: 4 new tires, new stay fast top, new steering wheel & hub w/horn (but still have original wheel), new dust cover, installed 3 point seat belt & replaced radiator drain, drain valve & refilled cooling system.
