Vehicle Detail
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Meet “Mr. Brown” our beloved grand Wagoneer! Only 2 owners before us, starting his life in Ft.Wayne Indiana and then coming to beautiful northern Michigan. Only 97,000 mile! It’s a very clean survivor, a small amount of rust but not as bad as it should be considering where it’s lived. We all know that these bring top dollar once restored ($50k+!)But I don’t believe that what this jeep should be…I believe it should be driven and enjoyed with its minor imperfections. Anyone that sinks 40 grand into restoring one of these forgets that they are just jeeps after all! Rough , rugged and full of personality. I’ve enjoyed driving this and I’m amazed at how many compliments I get. I had no idea what a trendy vehicle these had become before I owned one. I actually read that the highest number of registered Wagoneers in one area is in the Hamptons! HAHA. The good – · Goes down the road straight as an arrow. Smooth, plush and quiet. · Starts runs and shifts fine. 4wd works fine in low and high. Quadratrac means shifting is all done inside the cab like any modern truck. No locking the hubs. · Interior is nearly spotless. Can’t believe how nice the carpet and seats are. · All power windows locks etc work. · Factory a/c works · Power seats work · Cruise, tilt. · All the glass is in good shape · All trim is in tact · Factory tow package, wiring harness still in the factory bag. · Paint is super shiny metallic brown. Was repainted at one point but looks great. · Chrome is great · I have the original sales documents and the buyer had it rust-proofed, paint protected and scoth-gaurded! · Has new radiator. · New u-joints · New carburetor · New brakes · Great tires The Bad · A little rust. As I said it was originally rust proofed and most of that is still intact protecting the floor boards etc. Holes coming through on both rockers, inside underside of rockers are rusted. 2 spots on the rear above the gate, surface only. 1 spot on the front cowl surface only. Frame has had some rust repaired on the left rear, a nice job was done though. Also some heavy duty gas tank cover is installed. There is one other soft spot on the right front frame near a body mount….would be possible to patch. · Mid 80’s vehicles were a mess under the hood as far as emissions… there is a stock air injection system that has a few leaks..Popular opinion on the web is to eliminate it avoid all the hassles. · If you’re going to rock the a/c all the time I would replace the lines and recharge it. · Power steering hose has a small leak but I have another brand new one to go on. · Driver’s seat has a little wear on the fabric bottom bit…not bad. · Headliner is sagging in the rear…maybe re-glued? Not sure. · Power locks are sticky when cold…not warm? Needs lubed · Rear window in gate doesn’t go down smoothly so I’ve never forced it. Maybe needs disassembled, cleaned and lubed. · Dent in the rear gate · Bumper chrome is dulling a bit. Please contact me for more info. I’ll tell you all I can about it, and be as honest and accurate as possible. Having said that I can’t predict the future and he is 30 years old….so it is sold as is. I will work with any shipper you arrange as far as shipping it long distances. But all that cost will be on your end.
