2007 Saturn Aura XR Sedan. Pano Roof. Excellent Condition, NO RESERVE, 125k Miles What It Is: This is my personal 2007 Saturn Aura XR. We’ve had it the family for a long time. My father (83 years old, now) bought it some years ago in Colorado. About 4 years ago, my son (now 22) bought it to use during his college years at Texas State University. In May, my son graduated and is now selling the car. It’s got about 125,000 miles on and runs great. The car is absolutely LOADED and runs super. The Saturn Aura XR gets the same engine as the Cadillac for that year. Read-up on this engine! Many blogs say this engine will run for 250K mile with normal maintenance. Timing chain is designed for life of engine !Panoramic Roof. This expensive option is wonderful and works flawlessly.Two-Tone Leather Interior. This expensive option looks so cool and is in “like new” condition. Those leather seats in front are heated too J5-Speed Transmission. The ultra-sophisticated automatic is specifically designed to be used with that specific engine. You can run in “automatic” as you normally would – or choose “manual” and use the steering wheel mounted paddle-shifters. The combined city / highway mileage is awesome. Right now, we are getting 26 mpg. On the highway, we get 32 mpg.18” Wheels / Tires. This XR got another expensive upgrade. Premium 18” wheels. These look fantastic and are “curb-rash” free! A new set of 4 Michelin tires were just mounted less than 4000 miles ago.Fold-Down Rear Seats. Don’t let the comfy looking rear seat fool you. The seat back folds down to accommodate long item in the trunk.Anti-Lock Brakes & Traction Control. Condition: Overall, the condition is excellent. The original paint still has its shine. The interior carpet and leather seats look as though they are nearly new. The glass is perfect, except the windshield has a small rock pit in it (too small to even worry about). Mechanically, the care starts easy and runs flawlessly. There are now funny smells in or out. There are no warning lights, or check-engine lights. The car has always been garage-kept, and always been a non-smoker car. Expensive Stuff Already Done: The following items have been addressed in the last 6 months or so. Set of 4 Michelin tires, mounted, balanced, and aligned. These are under warranty.Complete brake job, including new rotors and pads all the way around.New water pump & coolant. Nit-Pics: Ok, here’s the little stuff. This prevents the car from being “perfect”. The Air Bag service light comes on sometimes. You can “toggle” the warning light off from the driver info panel.Small bumper blemish front and rear (hardly noticeable, see pic). Not worth having fixed, really.Sometimes the radio display pixels go off. I can always get them back on by turning the radio off, then on. One of those strange electrical snafus……….Fuel filler door latch is not sprung anymore. The fuel door closes fine – and stays shut, but to open, you have to pull it rather than “spring” open. Easily fixed by buying new spring part.Trunk release button mounted on the door does not work. Likely a vacuum line issue. The trunk opens with the remote key fob Why Sell? The transmission is the 6-speed automation with TAPshift technology. I had it a 5-speed. It's so smooth, it's hard to tell. The shift paddles are on the steering wheel (we never use them). Here is what I found on-line : The Aura XR was the top-line Aura model. The XR was fitted with the 3.6 L DOHC V6 with VVT, rated at 252 hp (188 kW) at 6200 rpm and 251 lb·ft (340 N·m) of torque at 3100 rpm. This engine was first used in the Cadillac CTS as well as the Cadillac STS and marks its third use in a North American GM car. With this 3.6 L engine, the Aura was the first front-wheel drive GM passenger car to use the new Hydra-Matic 6T70 six-speed automatic transmission.[12] The transmission featured TAPshift, which allowed the driver to manually select gears by using paddles located behind the steering wheel.[13] The Aura XR was the performance-oriented version with a taut, but not harsh, suspension and the more powerful engine. Available interior colors in the XR were tan and grey leather (available in the XE), along with the XR-specific black or Morocco Brown leather. Cloth was standard. Other standard features included the Advanced Audio Package, 18 inch alloy wheels, chrome exterior door handles, and remote vehicle start.[14] Given the 2007 Saturn Aura's European roots—the car's chassis was also used for the Saab 9-3. The Aura also used hydraulic power steering (V-6 models only) that provided more feedback and a more linear feel than the fussy electric power-assist units. For 2009, an entry level XR became available. It included the 17 inch 10 spoke alloy wheels available on the XE and the 2.4 L LE5 Ecotec engine mated to GM's all new 6T40 6-speed automatic transmission with TAPshift. The 3.6L VVT with 18" wheels was optional. 2. The tires are all-season Michelins. They all match and were purchased at Sam's Club several thousand miles ago. 3. I have no plans for a "Buy It Now" price. We are just auctioning the car. 4. The AC and heat system works just fine. No problems. The AC will take care of the harshest Texas summer-time conditions.
