PLEASE READ COMPLETE DESCRIPTION, BEFORE BIDDING NO AFTER... UP FOR AUCTION: THIS 2003 HONDA RC51 SP2 RVT1000 THIS BIKE RUNS, RIDES, AND STOPS GOOD... EVEN FOR BEING A 2003 STOPS AND RIDES ALMOST AS GOOD AS A NEWER MODEL SPORTBIKE IF YOU ARE READING, PROBABLY YOU ALREADY KNOW WHAT AN RC51 STANDS FOR AND ITS HRC HERITAGE FOR THOSE WHO DON'T, WELL IT'S A V TWIN (RARE FOR A JAPANESE BIKE) WHICH MEANS INSTANT TORQUE FROM THE GET GO... THEY HANDLE REALLY WELL, THE GRUNT, VIBES AND SOUND OF THE ENGINE ITS UNIQUE TO THESE MODELS... AFTER ALL HONDA BUILT THEM TO DEFEAT DUCATI AT THEIR OWN GAME, WHICH THEY DID, GETTING 2 SBK WORLD TITLES WITH THE "TEXAS TORNADO" COLIN EDWARDS... READ FROM CYCLE WORLD MAGAZINE (RIGHTS RESERVED) Years sold: 2000-2006 MSRP new: $9999 (2000) to $11,999 (2006) Basic specs: A dohc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 999cc, 90-degree V-Twin superbike weighing 440 lb. dry and making a claimed 133 hp and 71 ft.-lb. of torque. Why it’s desirable: “Designated Duck killer,” is how we labeled the RC51 when it was introduced as a 2000 model late in 1999. After winning numerous World and AMA Superbike titles during the 1980s and early ’90s, Honda grew tired of playing bridesmaid to Ducati and decided to build a V-Twin repli-racer of its very own, the RC51. That effort proved worthwhile. Before it was all over, the RC51 had won two World Superbike championships (2000, 2002) with Colin Edwards, as well as the ’02 AMA Championship under Nicky Hayden. Despite being heavier than a comparable Ducati, the RC51 was a more user-friendly streetbike, not to mention considerably less expensive. Its ergonomics were not as back-breaking, its suspension somewhat more mellow and its maintenance less time- and money-intensive. And with freer-breathing mufflers installed, the Honda’s big V-Twin bellowed the same booming, bewitching exhaust note as a Duck’s desmodromic motor. Useful resources: Lots of information about the RC51 is easily found on the ’Net. An obvious such site is www.rc51forums.com, and www.speedzilla.com also is an RC51 forum. And although www.fireblades.org is a forum named after Honda’s big CBR series repli-racers, it seems to contain more discussion about the RC51 than for any of Big Red’s inline-Fours. You’ll find videos, tech specs and reviews of RC51s on the Web, too, along with sites pitching accessories and performance parts, as well as RC51s for sale. Although the used-bike prices listed here are right from the Kelley Blue Book, a nice RC51 is considered a minor collectible and will likely command a higher selling price. I OWN A MOTORCYCLE REPAIR, SERVICE AND FABRICATION BUSINESS IN OC COUNTY CALIFORNIA I WOULD NEVER HAD BOUGHT THIS BIKE IF I DIDNT SEE THE POTENTIAL ON IT, I BOUGHT IT TO ONE DAY RESTORE IT TO FORMER GLORY. CHANGES IN MY BUSINESS AND NEW OPPORTUNITIES ARE FORCING ME TO SELL THIS BIKE, THAT'S ALL... THE BAD: THIS BIKE HAS A CALIFORNIA SALVAGE TITLE IT WAS LAY DOWN AT SOME POINT (NOT BY ME, THE ACTUAL CONDITIONS ARE HOW I GOT IT) IT HAS SCRAPES ON FAIRINGS, ONE HEADLIGHT, SOME ON THE SWINGARM, SOME ON THE CLUTCH COVER (SACRILEGE I SAY HRC AFTER ALL) THE FAIRINGS NEED TO BE REPLACED AND THE HEADLIGHT PLASTIC COVER AS WELL, THE TAIL FAIRING (UNDERNEATH) ITS DEFORMED FROM THE EXHAUST HEAT. IT HAS A DING ON THE GAS TANK. THEY PUT SOME HID HEADLIGHT, AND THE BALLAST ITS OUTSIDE FAIRING (KINDA MICKEY MOUSE) THE SPEEDOMETER IS WORKING BUT IT HAS A CRACK ON IT MISSING LOWER RIGHT (REAR BRAKE FOOT PEDAL SIDE) FAIRING BRACKET (BY THE REAR SHOCK -LOWER EXHAUST-) THE FOOT PEDAL ON THE RIGHT, (REAR BRAKE) I BELIEVE IS BENT A LITTLE... THEY MADE SOME HOLES IN THE FAIRINGS TO PUT CRASH PROTECTORS THE LICENSE PLATE YOU CAN HARDLY SEE ITS WAY DOWN BY THE SHOCK HAVE A COUPLE OF NONE SENSE STICKERS TURN SIGNALS INDICATORS AREN'T OEM RIGHT FORK SEAL IS LEAKING A LITTLE, IT WILL NEED REAR TIRE SOON THE GOOD: I TOOK OFF ALL THE FAIRINGS AND YEP, THERE'S NO DAMAGE TO RADIATORS, BRACKETS, COVERS, ETC. FRAME NOT BENT, STRAIGHT... AS NEW SUBFRAME OK SWINGARM IS STRAIGHT (ALTOUGH HAS SCRAPES AND CHIPS) POWER COMMANDER III INCLUDED AND IS ALREADY MAPPED JARDINE EXHAUSTS INCLUDED (THEY LOOK AS GOOD AS NEW) MY GUESS IS THEY PUT IT AFTER THEY LAY IT DOWN RIMS ARE FINE AND ORIGINAL 23K MILES THIS BIKE RIDES, STOpS, AND HANDLES AS GOOD AS IT CAN BE ... ITS A 11 YEARS OLD BIKE, IT'S NOT A DUCATI PANIGALE, OR DESMOSEDICI BUT IT HOLDS ITS GROUND. AFTER ALL, IT STILL HAS HRC PEDIGREE... I TRY TO BE AS CLEAR AS I CAN BE, SO THERE'S NO SURPRISES, CHECK MY FEEDBACK... SPEAK FOR ITSELF PLEASE DO NOT BID IF YOU HAVE 5 POSITIVE FEEDBACK SCORE ONLY, IF YOU DO, YOU HAVE TO CONTACT ME BEFORE YOU BID, OTHERWISE I WILL ERASE YOUR BID. SHIPPING IS ARRANGED BY THE BUYER, I WONT GIVE YOU QUOTES, ARRANGE SCHEDULES, ETC. THANKS AND HAVE A GREAT DAY! On Nov-04-14 at 18:52:16 PST, seller added the following information: I have recorded a video of the bike running, I will try to post it in here... if I can't please send me your phone at kawiman28@hotmail.com and I can send it to you... thanksOn Nov-04-14 at 19:04:35 PST, seller added the following information: forgot to add, the bike has been in non op California tags since august 2013... no late fees or charges. last owner hardly rode it and me, well I have too many bikes I just rode it twice. thanks and if you need more info, please let me know, thanks and good luckOn Nov-04-14 at 20:46:53 PST, seller added the following information: I have received a lot of questions, so to be even more clear: 1. this is a SP2 model NOT an SP1 2. what is it mean models from 2000 to 2002 were sp1 3. SP2's have a lighter frame, revised geometry, different and way better swing arm revised injection, bigger air box, revised head and bigger valves, and maybe I'm missing a lot of information, read description, again, please... its a complete different animal. let's put it like this, just as an example if this was a ducati it could be like buying a regular (999, 1098, 1198) and buying an "R" model... I have lowered my reserve to $3100 that's low, low, low. for this bike, I mean you cannot even buy a 600 with this kind of money, I know I will regret it, but my loss is your gain, hope it goes to a great home and be loved how it deserves. On Nov-04-14 at 21:10:56 PST, seller added the following information: this can help too, check this link... http://www.fireblades.org/forums/honda-rc51/54744-sp1-sp2-difference.htmlOn Nov-06-14 at 19:28:13 PST, seller added the following information: I am selling the bike locally as well I reserve the right to end auction at anytime, I had two local people checking the bike, I told them I got to wait for auction, but as everyone knows, money talks BS walks. if I receive a good local offer, I have the right to end up this auction at anytime. good luck... thanksOn Nov-06-14 at 20:07:46 PST, seller added the following information: FOR THOSE ASKING ME FOR A VIDEO RUNNING...
