This is a very special one-of- a-kind classic Truck for Sale. It is currently not a "show" truck. But It used to be a show truck about 12 years ago when it went through a frame off restoration. The history of this truck is derived from a file of original receipts and from the last person which owned the truck who purchased from from in 2010. The story is that the truck was taken down for a full "frame off" restoration by the owner in 1997-99 in New Mexico. It was then purchased several years later and was brought to California by the owner of a Aluminum Building Contractor where the truck sat in his showroom for 6 years as a "show off" trophy. It was then purchased by a retired Marine where he converted it to automatic and added improvements until he sold the truck to me in May 2010. As soon as I bought it I realized that the engine lost oil pressure after warming up. I asked the seller about this and he denied anything mechanical was wrong with the engine. I took it to my mechanic and he said the engine needed a rebuild because the oil pressure meant that everything was worn out around the piston connectors. Sure enough the engine was rebuilt to perfection in 2010. The truck was my "retirement" toy and I enjoyed it at car shows and driving it around. I have another newer truck that I use to get around town so this truck was not being used as much (and it has no air conditioning).. So now this truck is for sale. Fresh rebuilt 350 engine under 8,000 miles. Edelbrock Intake and Carburetor... MDS Electronic Ignition,4 Bolt Main less that 8,000 miles on a new 700R automatic transmission and B&M Floor Shifter.... Legendary Hooker Headers....Dual Flowmaster Mufflers.... New Cold Aluminum Radiator with fan shroud fan clutch system. Billet Water Pump..recently rebuilt chrome alternator... Power Steering.... Power Disc Brakes in front.... GT Grant Steering..Instrument panel was converted to "AUTO METER" gauges. When the truck was restored it was painted a corvette one stage yellow custom mixed paint in New Mexico where it was built. The paint really looks good still even with all the chips and minor scratches that have been painted over with matching touch-up paint. The bed sides interior and motor area are all painted with a special mix of paint similar to "Trunk Texture Paint". The paint is rough looking and has a texture, I get many compliments on this. This Truck has Custom Rear Fiberglass Fenders and the bed was custom made 6" wider than the stock bed, to make room for the massive rear P275 R15 wide 60's. Front tires are P245 R15 wide 60's...(Rear bed aligns with cab perfect when seen from rear...see pictures). Fiberglass Side Steps.... Custom Wood and Stainless Bed strips (from Bruce Horkey's Wood & Parts).. Custom made Tailgate and handy lock latches... Custom Door Handles Molded into Doors Custom Black and dark gray Cloth Upholstery is in good condition...Custom console made to fit and uses same upholstery. .Custom made front Chevy grill with aluminum bar inserts and painted black with yellow lettering.... .Nice looking Front And Rear Chrome Bumpers still look new...AM.FM and CD 400 Watt Alpine Auto System.with amplifier under seat, .Custom Power Antenna.. Chrome Reverse Classic Craigar Mags 8" in front and 10" in the rear..professionally .raised coil suspension rake in the rear gives the truck the look of a "drag racer".... BF Goodrich Tires have 40% life left....installed is a Billit Aluminum bracket by Vintage Air that holds the Alternator and a slot available for a Air conditioner Compressor .... Adding a A/C will be easy including room on the pulleys system for the separate A/C Belt..... Windshield has the deluxe chrome trim in the black rubber molding, as well as the rear window deluxe molding.
