This is a 1974 Fiat 128 SportL that has been converted to an EV sometime in the 70's. I bought this a while back, removed the old 6v batteries, and have not done anything with it. I am now moving very soon all of a sudden and need it gone! So, this is for a Fiat or EV lover looking for a project or parts. The system is 36 volt with some custom motor controller from an outfit that converted cars to EV’s in the Chicago area in the 70’s. I had seen one other similar conversion on ebay years ago. This will probably need a new controller, but may work if new batteries are installed. The charger circuitboard (in the trunk not shown) looked like it had a resistor needing replaced, but I did not attempt the repair. The motor is a P-51 mustang electric starter motor which is 36volts, and used for conversions back in the day I have come to learn. The best bet may be to throw in a modern controller/charger in the restoration. So, the 128 is a pretty cool looking car but not many were sold in the states compared to the 124. This car is pretty solid (except rust in right front fender/hood), and the doors click shut at a touch! (nice craftsmanship/feel) The interior is shot but the dash is clean and restorable. There is a pet odor inside that was inherited and I have not really attempted to remedy besides removing some carpet. (I heard oxyclean works for this) yes, the tires do hold air but the brakes need work as you would expect (I have never been into them). This car needs to be out of my garage because I have sold my house and need to be out by Oct. 30! So I am putting this up at NO RESERVE for a real FIAT/EV LOVER out there!
