Vehicle Detail

1957 Willys 2-Door Station Wagon, rolling chassis with body and drive train less engine. I do have the engine and the engine accessories but it lost a rod and the engine will probably need to be replaced. This wagon is by no means a looker in it's present condition, but it does have a very straight body with very minimal rust. The original factory colors were steel glow gray over white over steel glow gray. Current paint appears to be a less than professional rattle can job. It spent most of it's life in Colorado, so it did not get a lot of salt. In describing the body I will say from the chrome belt line up the body is close to perfect, and that would also include the roof, the area surrounding all of the glass, the cowl area in front of the windshield, the grill, the right front fender, the left door, and the upper tailgate. The following areas have light damage and will need repair, the area under the right door (pushed in a little), the left front fender (very minor damage on the front edge), the lower tailgate does not have any rust, but does have a couple light dents, the hood has a baseball size dent and has been filled with bondo, The driver side floor pan is rusted through, the passenger side is crusty but appears to be solid, and the floor from the seats back appears to be very nice with the oak slats still in place. I do have the two back seats and they need to be recovered. All of the 14 pieces of glass in the in this wagon are still in tact but 3 of them are cracked, and that would be the right wing, the right upper tailgate and the left rear slider. This vehicle has a very nice stance and is sitting on 4-16" tires with like new tread but they are about 30 years old and are weather cracked but they all hold air. The two door Willys Wagons were only produced in 1956 & 1957. This rare 57 year old Willys is a great base or starting point, and the possibilities are endless. Restore it back to original, build a rock crawler, or a mud runner, a unique hunting vehicle, or just a rare Saturday night cruiser. If you have been looking for and economical, simple restoration project that could be a real head turner you might want to give this one some consideration. I have tried to describe this Willys to the best of my ability, but have probably missed something that you would like to know, if so just ask. If you would like to inspect it in person prior to the end of the auction, again just ask and arrangements will be made. This Willys comes with a good Missouri title. Of course this vehicle is currently not running and will need to be trailered and the buyer will be responsible for all transportation costs.
