I am going to try and be as thorough as possible. Please read the listing completely!! You are looking at a 1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille with 74k actual miles. This was my mothers car. She always had Caddy's during her lifetime. This was the last one they bought as style went out the window in their opinion shortly after the late 70's. They are the 2nd owners and purchased this car in 1982. It has been garage kept its entire life. It has been used very sparingly the last 10yrs or so but has been kept up, started regularly and driven occasionally. As you can see it has only been driven about 25 miles in the last couple of yrs. Mom passed a couple of yrs ago and my dad swore he would keep it forever because it was "his sweeties caddy". He now realizes its just a car and he is getting up in yrs himself and just recently told me to go ahead and try and sell it. We hooked up the battery and she started on the first crank. This car runs excellent. That being said, here is a list with a rating of 1-10, with 10 being perfect and 1 being well, you know, not so great. Exterior- Paint- ORIGINAL except rear bumper fillers which were replaced (fiberglass now) Has an unreal deep gloss shine, almost mirror like. Unreal for a 35yr old car! Paint rating-8 (has nicks and small scratches here and there that are impossible to show in the pics. Chrome- Original and in great shape- 9Plush padded Vinyl Top- 8 (a cat decided to use it as a scratch post on the left rear side and now has about 7-8 tiny claw holes (frustrating!!! because otherwise its perfect). Body- NO RUST EVER, has minor dings here and there but nothing egregious. Under carriage- Solid and RUST FREE. Overall-8.5 Engine/tranny/rear- Big Block 7.0 Litre (472 cubic inch). Runs smooth and strong, no smoke/tapping or other strange noises and motivates this car with ease. Does have minor oil seepage here and there when sitting a long time. I noticed 3 small drips on the floor of the garage when I took it out. Rating-8. Transmission was rebuilt at some point but don't remember when exactly. Shifts strong and smooth- Rating-8. Rear differential was just serviced-10 Power windows, locks, cruise control, power front bench- All works perfect-10. AM/FM stereo works and speakers are ok for 35yrs old. Power antenna grinds and makes noise but does not go up and down- Rating-5 Heat/AC- Works and AC is ice cold, however the fan is not kicking in for some reason (possibly fuse but not sure)-Rating-6 Lights/signals/horn/wipers-All working with no issues-10 Interior-Seats-10/Carpet-9/ Headliner and visors-10 (new/not original)/Dash-one crack that has been there since they bought it-8/Door panels/rear panels-10. Has all the ashtrays and lighters that came with it like new (never used, car has NEVER been smoked in). Plastic trim- some of the plastics have discolored, plastic pieces on the seatbelt holders deteriorated-7. Trunk- 8.5, has original spare and all jacking hardware. Trunk carpet has a couple of spots that will undoubtedly clean up with a little carpet cleaner. Tires-Michelin All-Season radials in great shape-9. Cadillac Wire Wheel covers w/locks-9.5 Overall, this is a nice, classic, big-block Caddy that can be driven as is or brought to the next level with very little trouble.
