1987 Suzuki Samurai - No Reserve We've owned the Samurai for over ten years, it has always been in the southwest as the previous owner was from Arizona. It's absolutely rust free and super dependable. When we purchased it, the original 4 cylinder engine and manual transmission were still in it, we wanted better performance and better drive-ability in all conditions, especially mud and snow. So we turned to a local 4X4 shop for some suggestions, they came back with the Suzuki Gran Vitara V6 advising it would fit the chassis easily, double the horsepower, would not overburden the front end as it did not add that much weight, and with the 4-speed automatic trans, would be very much better in the mud and snow conditions in the mountains of southern Utah. They did a spectacular job of installation, the difference in power is remarkable and it handled much better in 4wd driving conditions. The old 4 cylinder and manual trans tended to loose momentum in deep snow when shifting was necessary, but this combination had no problems and never seemed to be straining even in some of the toughest conditions. It handles great, there was no noticeable difference in steering as there was not that much weight added, and they didn't have to chop it up to get everything to fit, they did an excellent install. The conversion was done about five years ago, have not had any problems with anything! I installed a start button a year ago, but that's been it. Very dependable rig, more power than you'll ever need, and everything nice and clean. Here's what it has: * 2001 Gran Vitara V6 and 4-speed automatic transmission, 91K miles when installed * 2.5L V6, 155 horsepower, very clean, no leaks or drips * High Performance electric fuel pump * professional installation of engine and trans by OnTrack4X4 * original transfer case, inspected at the time of conversion, in excellent shape * front axle is manually locked, rear is not locked * CB antenna has a cable will reach any point inside the cab easily * new carpet up front, the original carpet/mat is in the rear * new front seat covers, seat foam is in very good condition * rear seat is the original seat and cover, excellent condition * original tach does not work, apparently V6 was not compatible with the inline 4 tach. All of the other instruments work fine * front and rear axle center sections have 1/4" armor protecting bottom of each center section * lifted, heavy duty shackles * new aluminum diamond plate interior panels with hardboard backing, very quiet, no vibration * new aluminum diamond plate shift cover. * Overhead cargo rack * upper and lower halogen light arays on separate switches * tires excellent * chrome quick release hood latches * all glass good, back glass tinted * sunroof, opens, closes, does not leak * complete wiring diagrams of engine/transmission and stock wiring interconnections * sheet metal voids have been rigid foamed for structural rigidity * rust free * new Gran Vitara radiator * electric radiator cooling fan with manual illuminated switch There is a piece of trim missing in front of the passenger side rear wheel flare, and there is a small dent about the size of a 50 cent piece above where that trim is missing along the rear fender flare between 1 and 2 o'clock, you can see it in the close up of the passenger side picture. This Suzuki Samurai is sold as-is, where-is, the Buyer is responsible for transportation/shipping cost and arrangements, all sales final, no refunds or returns..
