Vehicle Detail
1977 Chevrolet C-10 Silverado 1/2 ton shortbed (short wide) fleet side. Factory big block 454. Automatic TH400 transmission. This is a factory big block 454 (as evidenced by the third digit ("S") of the VIN). It is a factory 1/2 ton with heavy duty suspension (as evidenced by the fourth digit ("4") of the VIN). The truck has many desirable factory options, including 454 big block, automatic TH400, air conditioning (components, including the compressor, are present but need to be hooked up), factory tachometer, dual tanks which are fully operational, and tilt wheel (with new Grant wood steering wheel). 1977 was the only year to have a gold stripe in the center of the side moldings. The dash is uncut. Although the dash pad has some cracks, the area surrounding the radio is uncut. The body is straight (small crease on only the driver's side of the hood which is very common) and rust free. Most of the exterior trim is present, but the trim on the driver's side bed is missing (see photos). The big block 454 has an Edelbrock manifold and Edelbrock carburetor, and stainless headers with true dual exhaust. This truck is fast and LOUD. The previous owner represented to me that the engine and transmission were both recently rebuilt; however, I can't confirm that. I can represent that the engine runs strong and the truck is fast. It would make a great candidate for restoration, or - - subject to addressing a few issues (see description below) - - it can be driven and enjoyed as is. The truck runs strong. The transmission shifts well. The rally wheels are mounted with BF Goodrich Radial TA tires which have plenty of tread. I just had the Grant steering wheel installed and had the front end aligned. The truck tracks straight. The brakes work well and the headlights, marker lights and turn signals work. There are a few items which need attention: Both door lock cylinders (or some other internal door components) need to be replaced (the key operates the locks, but the locks do not engage). The passenger window needs to be aligned. The TH400 transmission shifts fine but leaks some transmission fluid (as I said, the previous owner claimed the transmission was recently rebuilt). The windshield is chipped. The interior of the bed has some surface rust; however, as mentioned above, the body is rust free. I am NOT a dealer. I am a private party seller. Please check my feedback. I previously sold a 1986 C-10 step side and Hummer H3 - - both of which were my personal vehicles - - on Ebay and the purchasers were very pleased with the transactions. My feedback score is important to me, and I have tried to describe the truck as accurately as possible. I bought the truck to build as a resto-mod or pro-touring truck, but my plans have changed due to unforeseen circumstances. If you are looking at this ad, then you know the prices of C-10 trucks are skyrocketing. This truck is more desirable than the majority of C-10 models because it is a factory big block short bed with a/c and factory tachometer. I welcome inspections. The truck is 37 years old and is being sold "as is." There are, of course, no warranties either express or implied. The truck is located at my home in Las Vegas, Nevada. VIN decoded: C (Chevrolet) C (conventional cab) S (454 engine) 4 (1/2 ton heavy duty suspension) 7 (model year (1977)) S (production plant (St. Louis)) 177453 (The last 6 numbers of the VIN are the production sequence number.)
