Vehicle Detail
You are bidding on a 1971 Cadillac Hearse. This 71 was coachbuilt by Miller Meteor and is a traditional landau 3 way hearse. This means that the casket table can slide out either the back door or through either side of the hearse. A 3way hearse is the most desired style of all hearses. It is sexy, elegant and super cool to see the suicide doors opened up and the casket table sliding out the side. You can always expect to pay at least a few grand more for a 3 way coach with suicide doors. Especially one that is unmolested such as this. Far too many morons scrap the table and think "uhh duhh lets make this into a limo and put seats in back" yeah. good luck with that. 99% of the time these idiots end up putting some bench seat out of their moms mini van in there and make it look as stupid as they are. Not in this case. The 3 way table is in tact and just stunning. The gentleman who was selling it was going to scrap the car because he hadnt driven it in some time and his wife wanted it gone. I have way too many other hearse projects, but I didnt want to see this car crushed, it is wayy too nice and solid of a car to meet the fate of a crusher. I had a friend who was interested in the car & offered to have another of my hearses painted & back into running condition in trade on this one but that never happened and Id rather see this car go to someone who will love it and give it the attention that it needs than have it sit in my driveway waiting for 4 other cars to get worked on first. This car is white with a black painted top and burgundy brocade interior. The 472 engine is complete, but I have not tried to start the car since I bought it earlier this year. I was told that he had parked the car, it was running but he failed the Illinois emissions test and they were threatening to suspend his drivers license so he just let the plates expire. He told me that it did need a brake line replaced on the drivers side and a battery after sitting. I have keys for this car but I have not attempted to start it, or put a battery in. I think the gas tank should be flushed before trying to get it running, but I assume that it would be pretty simple to get some basic mechanical work done. I know that this would make a great & fun project for someone. There is a 1996 Wauconda IL city sticker on the windshield (which by the way is in excellent condition with no breaks) This is where I bought the car. The guy bought it in 1995. It was previously in service at a local funeral home in Peotone IL. This car has not been cut or customized or ruined with home made halloween garbage. It would be nice if the new buyer would keep it stock but as long as it gets the love and attention that it deserves and whoever buys it takes good care of it thats all that matters. make it into a Ghostbusters car, call it a hurst or Whitey, just make sure you enjoy it. If you have some kind of haunted house you could keep it there for promo. Of course Id love to hear that it is going to be restored ;-) The passenger rear door seems to be stuck closed and when it rains alot there is a damp smell in the car afterward. I assume the car will need new weatherstripping eventually. There is some rust around the lower rear quarters and some around one of the lights on the rear side. Tires are holding air fine, hubcaps are nice, interior is in pretty nice shape too. Like I said, this car needs a little TLC and a new owner that will drive & enjoy it. Shipping is the buyers responsibility. I would like to see the car gone withing a couple of weeks after auction end if possible. $500 deposit in 48 hours. Payment in full 7 days after auction end via cash or bank wire unless previous arrangements have been agreed upon. I would consider trading this car for a paint job on one of my other hearses. I might also consider trading for a 4x4 Ford truck with low miles or a Harley/VW trike or some other creepy weird car. Let me know what you have. No junk please. If you are not sure if a hearse is what you want or you are a looky loo please do not bid. I expect to be paid for this car, your winning bid is NOT an invitation to come look at the car and then decide if you want it or not. If you think you may be afraid of having a hearse go do everyone a favor and buy yourself a bus pass. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
