Can't drive 55? Viagra not working? Like to drive fast? You need this Maserati! This car is being sold "as is" with a clean Texas title and 100% of the money goes to Texas Husky Rescue. This great hard working group rescues Husky dogs. Here we offer a hot little Maserati five speed convertible with twin turbos and a rare Nardi steering wheel that some people want $1800.00 or more for. This particular car has an excellent engine and both turbos are operating. These cars are extremely fast and lots of fun. This car has been in storage since 1997 and has been started and driven in a parking lot several times a year. The engine has Royal Purple synthetic oil. The inside of the oil pan is spotlessly clean. The car has a Alpine stereo with a CD changer in the trunk. The Spyder was introduced in the Turin Motor Show in 1984. The car was designed and built by Zagato. The aluminum 90 degree SOHC Maserati V6 engine was roughly based on the 2.0L Merak engine based on earlier V8 Formula One Maserati engines designed by Giulio Alfieri This Maserati had a great deal of expensive mechanical rebuilding work completed in the 1990’s such as the front suspension was rebuilt with new ball joints, KONI shocks and bushings. The steering system had the power steering pump and steering rack replaced along with the hoses. The tie rod ends were replaced as well. The front end has been aligned. 1. The front and rear brake calipers were removed and rebuilt with new pistons, brake hoses, brake pads and all four brake rotors were replaced. The front wheel bearings were replaced. 2.The engine received valve cover gaskets with the valves being adjusted. The fuel injectors were removed and cleaned. The spark plugs, cap, rotor and ignition cables were replaced. The oil pan was removed and cleaned. A new timing belt was installed. New motor mounts were installed. 3.A new factory muffler was installed with new hangers 4.New radiator hoses were installed along with a new radiator 5.A new fuse box was installed with a new starter The car needs: 1. new battery ( available anywhere) 2. new tires (common size) 3. new top ( We can supply a new factory top) 4. a dash clock ( available upon special order) 5, clutch master cylinder rebuild (The car has a new slave cylinder.) 6. repaint The first and previous owner ( same fellow) of this car spent $20,400 on various mechanical rebuilding work and the car was placed into storage. His loss is your gain. The interior is the original leather with no rips. This car is very tight, handles very well and the engine runs extremely strong. For sale without reserve, get yourself a real bargain on a classic convertible and all the money goes to Texas Husky Rescue. We have lots more photos and can send them right to you. On Sep-06-14 at 09:10:37 PDT, seller added the following information: 7. The car needs fresh high octane fuel 8. The entire interior is original from 1987 and is not new. 9. The cockpit wood trim has never been refinished and ought to be refinished to look new again. 10. The carpets are original from 1987 and are not new. In response to questions. Keep in mind that this car is a 1987. It is not a new 2014 model. As mentioned, the clutch does not work and the master cylinder needs to be rebuilt. A potential bidder asked what the car needs to be a daily driver. Again, this is a 1987 car, not a new 2014 car. I don't know many people that drive 1987 cars on a daily basis and people maintain their cars in a broad level of perfection from complete neglect to fastidious so such a question is hard to answer. We are selling the car as is and have given as accurate a description of condition as we are able. Maserati owners usually have several or many cars and don't drive any of them every day as their only car. Cars should be driven often as machines are built to use but most high performance cars are not driven a lot thus most have relatively few miles on them. This car is no exception. This Maserati was last run about six months ago. We do have a new top and front windshield that can be purchased separately. On Sep-06-14 at 13:10:49 PDT, seller added the following information: On Sep-11-14 at 15:50:44 PDT, seller added the following information: I will be out of town from Sept 17-29. After payment has been made to Texas Husky Rescue and we have notification, the car can be picked up on September 15th or 16th or after Sept. 29th, Mondays through Fridays 9AM-5:30PM.
