Vehicle Detail

Hello to all ebayers,..... ******ATTENTION!!!!******For an EXTENSIVE COLLECTION of CURRENT PICTURES ((69))!!!, PLEASE CLICK on the link below****** PLEASE READ http://my.tidewater.net/~kitti/Impalaconv/ .....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1966 Impala 2 door Convertible. The Impala Convertible originally came from the factory as a 327 4 Speed car, unfortunately the original engine and transmission were long gone even when I purchased it 25 years ago in July of 1989. I purchased this from Smith Motor Company, Alamogordo, New Mexico 88330 when I was in the US Air Force,.....one year and one month before the first Gulf War, the business might be non-existent now. Coming from the dry, hot desert the frame is "rock-solid" and in excellent condition, with just minor surface rust. The floor pans are rusted and need replacing, but just the low pan area,...the rest of the floor is solid and so are the rockers, (see the pictures.) The pans were rusted out even back then,...from collecting the little bit of rain water that the southwest desert gets. The convertible canvas top is obviously long gone and was way back 25 years ago! I've kept the convertible top covered over for all the years I've had it, until recently for the pictures to post on ebay. The convertible top mechanism is 100% complete, in place, solid/ rust-free, still has the original GM flat black paint on the cross bows, no bends or breaks, and worked perfectly fine all those years ago,...I have not tried it recently. Yes, the electric convertible top motor is original and in place along with all the original hydraulic lines. The trunk floor pan is all there and in place, it has several rust hole spots, admittedly it was in better condition when I brought back here in late 1992. Even though I kept the convertible top covered over with several tarps at any given time,.....little did I know the rubber trunk seal hard aged from the desert heat, shrunk and leaked some here in Maine over the years and let water into the trunk. The chassis is free-rolling on the front end but the rear brake drums are rusted to the shoes and therefore the rear-end is not free-rolling. I know its the drums that have rusted, years ago it was free-rolling and the rear-end/ differential had no issues to my knowledge. All the tires hold air no problem, ((except the drivers side front leaks out in a half hour or so))...more than enough time to load/ un-load no problem. The sheet metal on the Impala over-all is pretty decent with mostly just surface rust. The only dents on the whole Impala is the passenger side door that is very solid and could be saved by a good body work person. Both doors are pretty solid with some light rust, the underneath of the doors are excellent,.......SEE THE ADDITIONAL PICTURES, ((click-able link))...up above ((at the beginning of the description.)) PLEASE NOTE THE PICTURES OF HOW SOLID the convertible top area is that supports the convertible top PISTON MECHANISM on both the drivers and passenger side!!!...For anyone considering restoring ANY CONVERTIBLE, this whole area in question is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT TO BE SOLID!!!!!!! Overall the Impala would make an excellent restoration candidate if a person has the time and money. Like I say the frame is exceptionally solid and very hard to come by in this condition in the Northeast. As with this listing and ALL others coming up in the next several weeks and months none of the autos will have a hidden reserve. I've stated all that I know about this Impala as factual as possible. Due to the age and amount of sitting for years, this Impala does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the Impala I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the Impala reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment to pickup the Impala ,...I offer FREE loading assistance to you with my Rollback and equipment,...or I'll assist the carrier of your choice (should you hire one),...also FREE of charge. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/ vehicle of 1995 and prior,....HOWEVER,...I DO HAVE A NEW MEXICO TITLE that was signed over to me in 1989 from the Smith Motor Company, Alamogordo, New Mexico that I mentioned at the beginning of the description,.....which shows the last registered owner in 1973!!! I will sign this title over to the new owner,...the Impala also comes with a bill-of-sale as additional proof of ownership. I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 48 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's. ********KEEP WATCH,...a lot of interesting older ANTIQUE/CLASSIC AUTOS (1949-1985) better shape than this coming in the next several weeks/months,...ALL of which will start with a modest starting price w/NO RESERVE!!!********COMING UP NEXT,......A 1981 CHEVROLET CAMARO Z28 T-ROOF ALL ORIGINAL 350/ AUTO, VERY SOLID.......ALL FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION OF OVER THE YEARS.......STAY TUNED!!! .....thanks for looking, Bob.
