Vehicle Detail
Hi, and thanks for looking. I have a very original Rokon RT340, standard Yellow-Tank motorcycle. This is a very complete bike and the only thing I can find missing is the stopwatch holder that used to sit on the dash plate, next to the speedo ( the original chain is in the leather tool pouch; removed to make it easier to roll around). This bike was last registered in 1977 when it was used as a rural commuter bike. After logging about 1800 miles, it was stored in the barn, in Rural Texas, where it sat for many years until the owner moved to Arizona. The bike was then stored many more years in a storage locker in Tucson until the owner decided he was never going to restore it and gave it to me. I actually thought briefly about restoring it, but I know nothing of 2-strokes and it's just a bit too big a project for me. Aside from being old, dirty and scratched up, it seems to be in fine shape. It even wears its original set of Carlisle Aggressor tires, which still hold air well enough to push around the garage. The sprocket teeth are in great shape and the engine turns freely. From the feel of the pull starter, it has good compression. I would think once the electrics (coil/condenser/plug wire etc.) are replaced/sorted, and the carb is cleaned, it would fire right up. There's every reason to assume the 1850 miles on the odometer are correct. While this super rare bike is a cool collector find, it is definitely in need of a total restoration. I didn't see anything that couldn't be repainted, re-chromed or resurfaced. It just takes the right enthusiast. If you're that person, and would like a restorable RT340 survivor to add to your collection, this could be yours for the highest bid. These bikes are valuable, but I need mine to go to a good home, so I'm starting the bidding off low and am listing it at no reserve. I'll also include a reprinted version of the owners manual/service manual. The high bidder wins! The winner is also responsible for shipping. I won't disassemble and crate it, but I will cooperate fully with your shipper. Any questions, or did I forget anything? Just shoot me a line. Thanks again. BTW, there is no title. Ebay requires something be added to that drop-down box, but There is no title for this bike. I'm selling it with a bill-of-sale only.
