VERY cool estate find. 1954 Eshelman! Appears to be in very good condition. Has rope pull engine, which I am told is original to this car. Elderly woman's daughter I bought it from had purchased it some 40 years ago. She bought it for her son when he turned 16, but his father bought him a Jeep, so he never drove this! I have not put gas in the tank, but the rope pulls, so engine is free and appears to have good compression. Has friction pad brake for rear wheel. This needs to be attached. I have never seen another car like this, but I think it is complete?? Comes with spare wheel and tire. Tires are solid rubber. Steering is direct, like a go-kart. VERY interesting and rare vehicle from the early-mid 1950's. Even has metal relief rocket ship on each side of car!! I wonder if it goes faster with these?? No title, as I do not think they ever had a title. Internet research informed me that these were advertised in Popular Mechanics magazine and they went around 15-20mph. Speed control is operated with throttle on dash. Since this has been stored indoors, the fuel tank is nice and dry. I am tempted to add gas and give the rope a pull, but I want to avoid the gas smell, as this has been in our family room! Local pickup only, or buyer arranges all shipping. This looks like an overgrown peddle car, and has substantial heft to it...Weighs 225 lbs!! We got it out of woman's basement where it had been reportedly for over 20 years.
