Vehicle Detail

First off, if you don't know what a locking center differential is, this probably isn't the truck for you. The Prius's are a little farther down in the search box. Second, my wife just came in and tried to convince me (again) not to sell this and sell my truck instead. It's a GREAT vehicle, and we hate to get rid of it. But I'm not selling my truck just because she wanted a minivan. Sorry guys. So, we've had this since October of 2005 when we bought it "certified" from a dealer in Ohio. Of the 4wd vehicles we looked at, it's on a frame, gets good mileage (for an SUV), has cloth seats that won't burn/freeze your backside, and is roomier than the competitors. It was also highly recommended by friends. We now know why. We didn't realize it at the time, but for midwest winters, it's best feature is the locking center diff. Light snow? Leave it unlocked and essentially have all-wheel-drive with traction control for the bad spots. Shut-down-the-city blizzard? Sorry, nurses still have to go to work. Lock that puppy in and go. The General Grabbers were just put on last fall and did fine when that happened this winter. I haven't tried it, but I imagine this thing would be a BEAST with snow tires. (I have Wintersports for my WRX... yeah.) It's had relatively little done to it for as many miles as we've put on it. But it's a 4Runner, so it's just about broken in. From the Blackstone oil report at 165k:"We salute your interest in extended oil changes and from the looks of things in the data so far, this engine should easily make 200,000 miles. Universal averages show typical wear levels from the Toyota 3.4L after ~5,700 miles on the oil. Despite your much longer oil use, wear metals in this sample still match up nicely to those averages, an excellent sign that this engine is in solid shape. The 1.6 TBN shows some oil additive still active (1.0 is too low) and no excess fuel or coolant was present. Try going up to 11,500 miles on your next oil. Results should be favorable." What has been done:Belts, plugs, timing belt/water pump/tensioner @160kRancho RS5000 shocks in Jan '09- still good control. Nice ride, but mushy for a "sport" trim if you ask me.NAPA radiator last summer when the internal transmission cooler ruptured. Flushed with 16 gallons of ATF. Replaced red Toyota coolant. Tranny has been fine since.New Stoptech ceramic pads and O'Reilly rotors on the front two weeks ago. I'll include the Hawk pads and Cryotech slotted rotors that have some uneven deposits if you want to salvage the rotors. Rear shoes/drums were replaced last year with NAPA parts.Sony radio with CD and MP3/iPod interface since the backlight on the factory radio quit working- factory power antenna doesn't play nice sometimes, but I'll work on that if I get a chance. Factory radio included. The interior is is great shape, and has Husky Liners front to back. No tears or rips, just a few dog hairs. Sunroof goes up or back and doesn't leak. A/C is cold, and all lights and switches work. Rear heater works too well- it'll sweat you out if you leave it on high. Passenger map light has a red LED to disturb the driver less at night. We're located in the Indianapolis area and will work with a shipper or meet you at the airport if needed. Delivery to Florida or other beach areas may be negotiated according to my wife. Clean title in hand.
