Vehicle Detail

Please note: this bike has been re-listed on eBay due to 2 bogus bidders that sabotaged my previous auction. They have been reported to eBay and are now blocked from bidding on this new auction. I have been on eBay for 15 years (see my 100% perfect feedback!) and I have never experienced anything like this! I will be keeping a close eye on this new auction to watch out for any erratic bidding activity so the rest of you genuine buyers can enjoy a fair and genuine bidding process. If you did bid before, please do so again and hopefully you can own this beautiful motorcycle. Thanks and good luck (again)! THE BIKE Triumph Thruxton 2006 in black / silver with the ultra cool checkered stripe running along the top! This is a lovely example of a carburated model Triumph Thruxton (pre-2009). It's a low mileage bike with only 5120 miles on the clock. The bike starts and runs perfectly and was recently dyno tested and tuned down at PJ's Triumph in Albuquerque. Also, when the bike was dyno tested, I also had the header pipes high temperature ceramic coated (at much expense!) to match the black mufflers. The bike really looks the part! I get people stopping and chatting to me about it all the time, it's a real head-turner / conversation starter! CONDITION The Thruxton's in great shape for it's age. I chose this bike carefully when I bought it earlier this year because I didn't want to buy a heavily modified machine. Like I say, this is my third Thruxton so I know the bike very well. The bike starts first time and runs beautifully. Tires are in good shape - the front has longer life than the rear. The rear tire may need changing sometime after the 6000 mile service. The paint still shines nicely, however there are some faint scratches here and there that certainly don't detract from the bike's overall appearance. There is a light dent in the petrol tank (no paint chip though, just a dent). Also, there is a scrape along the engine cover on the left side which can easily be replaced if needed. Overall, there is no excessive wear and tear (other than mentioned above) to the bike that is not normal for the bike's age and mileage. MODIFICATIONS The Thruxton bodywork has been tastefully modified but there have been no modifications to the engine. British Customs bullet turn signals - front and rearBritish Customs cateye fender elimination kitBritish Customs Predator exhaust pipes in blackOriginal Triumph Thruxton pipes high temperature ceramic coated to match BC exhaust pipes (this was done recently at much expense!) WHY AM I SELLING? This is my third Triumph Thruxton - I love them! They look great and ride beautifully. However, I have finally succumbed to BMW' R Nine T! Back in January I was making a decision on whether to get another Thruxton or get an R Nine T. After seeing the BMW at the Phoenix Motorcycle show, I decided I didn't want to pay the money for the R Nine T and chose the Thruxton instead. I wanted an earlier carb model Thruxton and bought this one from Dillon Brothers in Nebraska. I have only owned the bike since March but couldn't get the R Nine T out of my mind. I have finally given up the fight and have purchased an R Nine T. I wish I could keep both bikes but I can't so my loss is your gain. FINANCIAL This is a straight auction - NO RESERVE - winning bidder gets the bike! I don't believe in fixed price, so let the bidding decide the price! Winning bidder is required to pay $1000 through Paypal within 24 hours of auction close. Remaining balance must be paid in full with cash or cashiers check only prior to pick up or on day of pick up. No personal checks or paypal to be accepted for remaining balance. PICK UP / DELIVERY I am based in Santa Fe, New Mexico and the bike can be shipped anywhere. Buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for shipping. I have used motorcycle shippers a couple of times now and will be happy to help you arrange this if needed. Ideally, I need the bike to be gone within a week after auction close due to space limitations. If you want to pick up the bike personally, that is fine too. I am available to meet you / meet the shippers as needed. TITLE / KEYS / OWNERS MANUAL The Thruxton's got a clear title and is paid for in full (no lien) - I have the title in hand ready to sign over to you. I also have the original Triumph Owners book with service stamps in it and a bunch of spare keys (ignition and steering lock). Also included is the recent dyno test results from PJ's Triumph. WARRANTY There is no warranty with the bike. The Thruxton is sold as-is with no further guarantee or warranty. I have included many photographs and a detailed, honest description of the bike. Questions are welcomed and encouraged, so please do ask prior to purchase. SUMMARY For the money, this is about as cool as you can look and as much fun as you can get on any motorcycle around today! Good luck with the auction and please email if you have any questions, I always respond quickly. On Aug-22-14 at 08:35:20 PDT, seller added the following information: FREE DUST COVER I am now including a free dust cover! It's a Nelson Rigg DC505 indoor dust cover. I bought it for my R Nine T but it's slightly too small due to the high mirrors. Although I haven't tried it yet, it should fit nicely over the Thruxton. Click here to see more information and photographs on the Nelson Rigg website. On Aug-23-14 at 17:30:39 PDT, seller added the following information: SEE A VIDEO! I went for a ride on the Thruxton this afternoon because it hasn't been out for 2 weeks. It started first time (with choke) and I went for a short 10 mile ride. There is now 5130 miles on the clock. I did a quick 1 minute video so you can here the bike running and revving with the lovely sound of the British Customs Predator pipes! CLICK HERE TO SEE THE VIDEO!
