Vehicle Detail

We are selling this 1958 Chevrolet Impala for a friend to help settle an Estate along with a 1959 Plymouth Sport Fury, 1975 Corvette & 1976 Corvette with a Greenwood body. This Impala was restored some years ago and left to sit in a barn. The fuel and brake system will need to be gone through and the tires will need to be replaced due to sitting flat however the spare still looks like new, but old. The TH400 transmission is leaking(running) from the front seal. It will start and move forward & reverse but the brakes are soft and we believe there is a vacuum leak maybe from the brake booster or hose and needs a carburetor rebuild. We did a quick cleaning of the larger chrome and is cleaning up to driver quality as you can see in the photo's. The rest of the chrome and stainless should buff out nice. The Interior is still like new and does not have the long term storage odder. I believe he was going to replace or did replace the right door window chrome and the cap was not replaced but with the car, also what looks too be a re-chromedwindow surround . We could not find the small angle bracket that connects to the vent window to secure the cap. He also was working on the wiper motor (which does not work) and we only found 1 wiper arm that we believe is for this car. The dome light covers appear to never been installed and we do not have them. The exterior upper back window molding is off but we do have it. The left front fender was hit with some of the barn roof during a wind storm and the right fender received a couple minor dings as well. Some water was trapped between the trunk floor and mat causing some minor surface rust. We took many photo's you can see on You Tube at restorermatt 1958 Impala for sale, or this link if it works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cLjWotij40c Being Sold AS-IS We encourage potential buyers to look at the vehicle This is a No Reserve Auction, only bid if you plan to Buy On Aug-25-14 at 13:54:51 PDT, seller added the following information: A helpful Ebay member sent me the following information about the engine. One note, the carburetor is an Edelbrock. 1. Date and Engine Code for engine assembly T0811 IG = assembled at Tonawanda, New York on August 11, 1966 application is a 1967 396/325 with Powerglide in a Full size Chevrolet (Bel Air, Biscayne, Caprice or Impala). 2. VIN 72140164 = 1967 Model Full Size Chevrolet which was assembled in St Theresa, Quebec, Canada; it was the 104164th in sequence for the specific Model assembled at the plant. Many of these Canadian built cars were exported to the U.S. during the period. The Intake manifold with Holley is applicable to the same engine described above; although there is a Rochester version too. However, the carburetor in the engine photo looks like a Rochester instead of the conventional Holley design that was used with the model of engine and manifold.
