This German Jetta is being offered as good basic safe transportation. I have personally driven the car over 150 miles while upgrading the engine with things like new Spark Plugs, Filters, a new Catalytic Converter for the smog test and doing extensive driving in the California Mountains. It uses Synthetic Oil only and like any older car has a couple of things someone will probably want to fix. The headliner is loose so it needs to be repaired, and the Air Conditioning needs to be looked at. But these are not things that effect the cars "Safe Drivability". That's a simple fact, the car "runs and drives" without overheating, the brakes work perfectly and now the car has BRAND NEW 20,000 mile tires , the transmission shifts smoothly. At high speeds when braking quickly there is no shudder or shake, so there are no detectable issues there . Simply put the car is mechanically sound for a good late model car. I checked thoroughly and it does not leak any fluids what so ever and I have all the receipts from the new parts for the new buyer. In short it is a great used car for the price.
