Vehicle Detail
~1978 Pontiac Trans Am. This is not an SE, although it looks similar and has some SE components. ~For the most part this is a factory stock car with the following exceptions: Hooker headers, front drop spindles, 18 inch staggered billet aluminum snowflake wheels manufactured by Year One. ~This is not a concours quality car, but definitely show quality and has won many trophies. It is a gorgeous car that can be driven daily if so desired. I don't drive it daily, I take it to shows and the occasional cruise. Otherwise it is always in my climate controlled garage. ~The car runs beautifully, the ride comfort and handling is impressive. No need to turn on the radio, as the hooker headers matched with performance mufflers produce a sweet exhaust note. ~In the 2 years that I've owned the car, it has not seen rain, water or soap. I keep it spotless at all times, covered in my garage. ~The A/C blows ICE COLD. Transmission shifts up and down perfectly. Brakes stop the car with ease. ~As the pictures show, this car has stunning paint, with many coats of clear for an incredible deep shine. The factory did not paint cars like this! This is southern car, there is no rust, no paint bubbling. It's solid. ~The engine bay is stock, aside from the headers. I've tried to keep everything as it was, including the working smog pump. The bay is clean & detailed for stock show. The hood has new insulation. ~If you don't like lots of attention when you're driving, getting gas, at stop lights, etc., this is NOT the car for you. Trans Am's of this vintage bring back lots of fond memories for many people and they will share them with you....like it or not. Personally, I like it. ~This is a 36 year old car, so it's not brand new. There are a few minor wear and tear things, so if you're very picky like I am, you will notice them. For Example: The interior trim has some minor defects and scratches. The rear window has some scratches. Drivers side mirror glass has a weird defect. The front air dam side gaps aren't perfect, but they didn't come perfect from the factory. There are other very minor things here and there. ~Mechanically the car is a solid 9 out of 10. Body, paint and interior also a 9 out of 10. ~Reliability: I give it a 10. It has never failed to start. It's a pleasure to drive. It always gets me home. I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. ~So if it's that great, why the heck am I selling it? I bought a new toy and I need the garage space. Right now my new toy is in a temporary tent, but I would like it in the garage space the Trans Am is currently occupying. That's it. ~This a no reserve auction, bid to win. Winning bidder pays a $500 deposit via Paypal within 24 hours of auction end. The balance via cash or certified bank funds prior to delivery. I have a clear lien free Arizona title in hand. ~Questions? Please ask. Thanks for looking!
