Vehicle Detail

I’m listing this car for the third time. Perhaps the third time is a charm. Please do not bid if you do not plan to pay. I had another offer last week during this auction but the guy backed out after he made the offer. He said he has too many cars. I also had someone ask what's wrong with the car that nobody will buy it after they come to Decatur to complete the purchase. There is nothing wrong with the car and the buyers never came to look at it, they never paid the deposit, and they never replied to my emails after they bought it. I guess these buyers just like to buy cars and then not pay. I'm also having the same problem with my other auctions so I guess it's just an Ebay thing that buyers do. Please do not make me an offer if you have no intention of paying. Sorry if I sound harsh but it just gets frustrating when you sell a car to 3 different people and they don't bother to get back to you after the sale. Thanks... I'm selling this car for the owner. His first car was a 77 Cutlass just like this one. He purchased it from the original owner and was restoring this Cutlass for car shows when he lost his job. He needs the money and regretfully needs to sell his toy. This car has only 77,277 miles and is ready for the road. I would not be afraid to drive it to California. This is a 1977 Oldsmobile Cutlass Midnight Black Special Edition. The paint was pretty faded when he bought it so he had a local restoration shop sand and paint the body earlier this year. It cost him over $4,000 just for the black paint job and the gold 442 stripes. They also added new weatherstrips plus the new Hurst Olds emblems. It was painted with a quality urethane base coat clear coat system. After the paint was cured it was wet sanded with 1200 grit sandpaper, then 2000, 3000, and finally 5000 grit sandpaper to get the orange peel out and get it slick. Once sanded it was buffed and polished out. The paint is so shiny you can shave in your reflection as you can see in the picture I took of the trunk lid. The paint and body would be considered to be in #2 condition with #1 being perfect in an honest appraisal by a show judge. This car was never intended to be a trailer queen but a very nice weekend cruiser and show car. The interior is black, white, and gold and is in #3 condition. The interior is in better than average condition. The rear carpet has a tear that doesn't show because it's under one of the floor mats . This car has the Olds Rocket 350 engine. Turn the key for only 1 second and the engine fires right up, you don't even need to touch the gas pedal. It starts and runs better than most late model cars and it sure draws a lot more attention. The tires look almost new. This is basically a very nice low mileage car that needs just a few odds and ends parts (probably abour $200) to complete the restoration. The owner had planned to replace the hoses and belts when he detailed the engine bay but they look to be in good condition and probably will be fine for years. This car is worth far more than the $4,500 asking price but he just would like to get back the money he spent at the restoration shop. This car is also for sale locally so bid early or you might miss your chance. If you plan to wait till the last day of the auction this car might already be sold, it’s that nice. This Cutlass is in very good condition but because of the age it’s sold as is. The buyer must pay a $500 deposit and pay the balance due within 7 days. You can store this car for up to 30 days inside my garage out of the weather for free until you can arrange transportation or pick it up. Please do not ask me if you can send an extra $1000 for me to send to the shipper after I have cashed your check. You pay the shipper yourself. Call me if you have any questions. I am relisting this car because the last buyer never paid. Please do not bid if you just like to buy cars on ebay but don't plan on paying. Thanks THIS CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY SO I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO CLOSE THIS AUCTION AT ANY TIME AND SELL TO A LOCAL BUYER. THE SELLER SPENT ABOUT $4500 TOTAL ON THE RESTORATION AND HE HOPES TO GET THAT AMOUNT IN THE LOCAL SALE. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE CALL ME AT 217 454 TWO EIGHT THREE SEVEN. THANKS
