Vehicle Detail
what your looking at here is an original 1970 camaro rally sport Z28 body/roller.to set the record straight, first off, some people refer to these as 70 1/2s.there was a strike that lasted for 6 1/2 months.from late 69 till around febuary 70.,so call them what you want.they built 70 camaros from feb. to sept.1970.a very short production period.,but none the less, there all 1970 models. this is an absolutely great car to start with.if your wanting to make a drag car or a pro touring?but in my opinion, this car needs to be restored back to its original status.heres a breakdown of what it is. body: 1)extremely good shape as it is now, very little rust. 2)the worst places are the very bottom of both fenders, they need replacement pieces or patching.and the drivers side quarter panel behind the wheel. thats it as far as major rust.(unless somes been fixed in years past) 3)trunk doesnt need patching or replacing, its in really good condition, some pits are about it 4)all floor pans are so nice, they stillretain the original red oxide primer applied from factory.just the drivers side front needs some small places fixed. 5)rockers are good, one does have some filler at one end. 6)rear uni-body and frame rails are all good.they need cleaning and painted. 7)all subframe seems to be all good &straight. 8)trunk lid, doors, roof and aroundwindows are all good. 9)all panel gaps are good,no major body mis alignments. 10)car is in black primer.the original color was dark green with white stripes. 11)i thought the car neede something,so i put the stripes back on it in flat white to help out the flat black primer. 12)there on ther correctly as by an assembly manual which is an instrument used by the factory,so the stripe deminsions are correctly done. 13)all glass is good, except windshield is cracked. 14)car came from factory with the big spoiler. 15)rally sport enduro nose is in excellent shape, not warped up,it fits the header panel perfect. interior: 1)most of it is all here, some needs redoing, some dont. 2)its still black, like from the factory. 3)was an original 4-speed. 4)has the 150 m.p.h.speedometer. 5)has the 8000 tach, only the Z28 and the 396-375 had this one. 6)has the factory gauge cluster. 7)factory tilt wheel. 8)rear window de-fog 9)new door panels. 10)new carpet. 11)new seal plates 12)has the correct seats with the small head rest(70 0nly) trim and chrome: 1)alltrim is there.some needs cleaning, some needs to be replaced.some can be buffed. 2)bumpers are good, but of course they need rechroming. 3)rally sport grille chrome is very nice. 4)original Z28 wheels are excellent, even the trim rings are in good condition. 5)tailights and park lights are nice and not busted or cracked, including the housings. 6)i found this old tag from 1973,i thought it would look good on the back where the license plate goes.it doesnt mean its been that long since its been driven to summarize: i think this car is worth more than a 70 rs-ss that ran a week or two ago.if you would like, put in this number and it will bring it up.....151359715855. that car was all apart,it brought $6700.00 and still didnt meet the reserve?...dont get me wrong, that was a nice car.and it is and was worth every dime.,but still ,a Z28 rally sport thats completely together should be worth more than that.my reserve on this car will be less than that. the 70 Z28 was a very strong car in its day.it had the very first lt-1 ever produced.that made 360 hp.with the close ratio 4-spd it was quick.this one does have p.steering and disc brakes.you can see in one picture of the trim tag,it shows the color, the Z28 code and the stripe code.this is one of roughly 7100 cars produced that year.all the vin#sare in tact and never been altered.all #s of the vin on the car match the title that is clear and clean. i reserve to end this auction early.all sales are final, you buying this car as-is ,no warranty expressed or implied.im a dealer doing business as hathcock auto sales and restoration.ive been dealing in just camaro, chevelles and novas for 34 years.i dont sell junk and never will.please read my feed back and youll see................this car has very low reserve, way below the real value of whats here.................................please only bid if your serious and are mature enough to do so with out asking your mama or wife and have the mental capacity to know what your doing?like calling me to say "you didnt know what you were doing".............................if you have questions, please ask.ive done the best i could describing this car....at least you dont have to worry about how the car runs or drives!!!!thanks On Aug-04-14 at 19:12:06 PDT, seller added the following information: hey, i wanted to add to this regarding several questions about on the same lines.what you see here is all i have to go with the car.i do not have any extra parts.considering that it is a non running, non driving car, there is alot of good usable parts here, but theres alot thats going to need to be refurbished too.some of the things i do not have, driveshaft, seat belts, gas tank.those things are available on ebay and different places.it does not have the correct rear end,and the wheels even though they all look the same as other year Z28s,they may not have the correct date codes for a 70 model.these are just some answers to many, many questions ive had.please fell free to ask me anything you would like to know about the car,ill do my best to help you.i want who ever buys it to be impressed and happy with their purchase.thank you for all the interest in it.
