drfusion Store 1987 Honda CH 250 Elite 250 Scooter Excellent! This is one of the best motor scooters Honda ever made. It is the 1987 Honda Elite CH 250. It was one of the last of the 70/70 scooters. 70 miles per hour, 70 miles per gallon. Cruising speeds in the 70-73 mph range. I get 77 mpg. This has a 250cc motor and V-Matic belt driven automatic transmission. I have owned four Honda CH 250s and all are remarkable scooters. Honda doesn't make a comparable 250cc scooter now. This is the only year for the ruby red color. That color was found on the Honda CN 250 Helix and the Honda Elite CH 150 for two years. Other than the black, in my opinion, it is the nicest looking color in the sun. I have completed the advanced tune up and maintenence on this scooter. The weight rollers in the variator were changed. It has a new drive belt. The oil in the gear reduction box (transmission) was changed to synthetic oil. I rebuilt the clutch with new Honda parts. It has a new front and rear tire. I changed the oil with synthetic Mobil 1 every 1K miles. The scooter leaks no oil and uses no oil. The scooter is stored in the winter in a heated garage. The scooter was not ridden in the rain by me. The battery always had a Battery Tender trickle charger on it. The scooter odometer shows 14,345 miles. There may be slightly more miles upon sale. The scooter has some rare options. It has the factory authorized Honda Kenwood AM/FM radio kit with 20x20 watt booster and handlebar control. This radio was specifically made for the CH 250. The scooter has the front and rear chrome beauty bars. The scooter has the rare hard to find optional rear Hondaline trunk with two original keys. Although they did not make the optional front fairing for the 1987-88 models, I found one and painted it the ruby red color. The side accent pin striping is original Honda. It also has the Honda tool kit. I am selling this scooter because I have three others. The scooter is mechanically sound. It starts and runs superbly. It handles well on the road. The scooter has never been dropped or involved in an accident. All the plastic is superb-no broken tabs. The fit and finish of the plastic is excellent. There are minor use scratches which is normal for its age. This is a Randy Pozzi certified pre-owned scooter. Pozzi has written many service and mechanical technical tips regarding the CH 250 and has certified this scooter. The name "certified" has always meant passing his strict standards for scheduled maintenance and mechanical trust worthiness. The scooter has passed a vehicle inspection and reconditioning process, has a clean vehicle title and comes with a vehicle history report.
