Vehicle Detail

project vehicle message me if you want a picture of something specific On May-30-14 at 06:16:33 PDT, seller added the following information: project vehicle message me if you want a picture of something specific. according to samba ( go to thesamba dot com ) the engine is 1971 so i listed it as 1971 chassis may be from some other year. i am guessing that the chassis, frame, tranny, suspension, body, and most of the steering is usable and that engine will need complete overhall seems to go in and out of gear with shifter (i use it as parking park). please inspect this vehicle BEFORE you bid! i would rather not sell it then have someone think they are getting something that doesnt need work, then backing out becusae they bid and then decided to look at it afterwords. your deposit is non refundable! i bought this from a guy in Tennessee and it ran when i got it although it wasnt running rite, it had a clunking sound in the engine and very little power, never got it our of third gear, was running on three cylinders. it is a rare 4 seater and thats why i bought it but just no time to fix her up. most rail buggys and dune buggys have a shortened chassis, i believe this one may be original length! i think the longer wheel base is a positive feature, i drive a similar rail buggy that was shortened and between having no weight over the front wheels and the fact that the rear wheels want to drive straight ahead, the front tires dont have that much authority. On Aug-03-14 at 11:21:53 PDT, seller added the following information: there was an email questioning if this had the swingaxle or IRS tranny. i dont know so i posted a few more pics of axle and tranny. if you look at the tranny picture where the starter motor is in the upper rite hand corner, which is typically at the bell housing which is the largest part of the tranny, and you look towards the left you can see that the tranny gets larger again (the view is partially obscured by the stack of bolts lol). this is very differnet looking then the tranny on the dune buggy i have plates on which the overall tranny is much smaller and does not have the second "bulge" and the one with plates is (not pictured) is swingaxle. hope this information is useful.
