I am relisting this Sprite as the wining bidder from the prior auction decided that her shipper was asking too much money to move the car from TN to Florida. Please only bid if you are confident to can complete the purchase, ok, round two! Thanks for looking at this very solid 1968 AH Sprite 1275cc, which has been dry barn stored since 1996, which is when it was last registered and on the road. I have the 1997 renewal sticker, it was never put on the plate. The clear title is in the same name has the registration document. If after reading this listing you have any questions, please ask, you will get a prompt response. On to the details... The Body. This car is as rust free as you could expect to find in an original unrestored Sprite from the era. The sills are perfect, front to back, inside and out. The bottom of A posts are solid, along with the hinge panels, as is the trunk floor, and the cabin floors. No rust in the doors, which are very solid on the hinges. Roughly a 2" hole in the battery tray. No structural rot of any kind. At some point a bump in the nose caused the right front wing and bonnet to be replaced, and something fell and dented the top of the cowl, cracking the windshield at the same time. A much better front wing and a good windshield assembly are included in the sale. The car is red, but she was originally a green car. I noticed that the trunk lid is original, with the old style prop rod, and I see no evidence of any rear damage ever. The rear bumper is nice and straight, but no front bumper, sorry. All four AH stamped hubcaps are in nice shape on the correct style steel wheels. The Mechanical's. The car is very complete, it will need all hydraulics, (brakes still have some pressure), and the electrical system is a mess, I would start with a new harness. The key's are in the ignition and it turns fine. The four Pirelli tires hold air and have good tread, fine for a test run around the block, but no more than that. No spare, but the original jack and lug wrench are included. I have made no attempt to start the car, but the engine does turn over when you rock the car in gear, and the gearbox goes into all the cogs. The oil is very clean, always a good sign! What is especially great about the engine is that the prefix is 12CD, which is the exact series that this HAN9 should have. It is even painted in the correct lighter shade of green as these motors were. So although I do not have a Heritage Certificate, I would be willing to bet this is a numbers matching car. You can see the numbers on the photo's, so please research further if this is important to you. The Interior. The top of the dash is toast, half the instruments are not original, the seats need a little work on the seams, but the carpets are in very nice shape. The door trim panels and other interior panels are in good shape, certainly usable as is for a while. The cars has a top frame, but no fabric. The widows wind up and down fine, doors shut well, and the gaskets are fine as is. Sorry about that Grant steering wheel, it's in great shape, but seem's out of place to my eye. Other considerations.
