Vehicle Detail
Hello to all ebayers, PLEASE READ..... .....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1980 GMC Sierra V-8 "7000" series which is a former firetruck for the municipality of Belfast, Maine. The GMC has 30,485 original miles and overall is a decent truck but does need some work, currently it's not a "turn-key-driver". I'll list the known problems first, then the good things about the GMC secondly. The rear brake drums are rusted to the shoes, therefore the chassis is not 100% free-rolling. The (passenger side) rear wheels turn in reverse and sometimes when going forward. The (drivers side) does not turn forward or ahead due to the drum being rusted to the shoes. The rear-end (differential) is in perfect working order and so is the rest of the drive-train. The wheels on the steer axle turn freely with no problems. The 427 is of course a gas engine, not diesel which runs good and burns no oil but needs a tune-up &/or carburetor gaskets may have partially dried out. The motor oil and antifreeze are up to level and have been for years with no leaks. The radiator is very heavy duty and it too is in excellent condition with no leaks. The sheet metal is in mostly very good to excellent condition with minimal to no rust. Both of the doors are solid including the very bottoms with just some surface rust. The hood has just a little bubbling on the both sides of the vertical portion where the hood joins the fenders. The worst rust on the sheet metal are on both sides of the lower fender extensions where they come close to (but don't join) the running boards. The GMC came equipped back in 1980 with several options such as;... 5 Speed Spicer Standard Transmission, Full Size Strobe light, Stainless Steel Mirrors, Dual Spot Lights, Heavy Duty 105 Amp Alternator, Factory Tachometer, Front Chrome Bumper, Front Bumper Tow Hooks, Fog Lights and factory double frame. I feel the GMC would make an excellent and affordable Rollback or Ramp-truck candidate, if an individual had an available body, preferably with the wheel-lift (stinger) option. I've stated all that I know about this GMC as factual as possible. Due to the age and amount of sitting for years, this GMC does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the GMC I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the GMC reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment to pickup the GMC ,...I offer FREE loading assistance to you with my Rollback and equipment,...or I'll assist the carrier of your choice (should you hire one),...also FREE of charge. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the GMC comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...please check with your individual state. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know and I can contact the state of Maine and they will issue a legal document so that you can take this paperwork to YOUR state DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a new title in your state. I've done this may of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state. I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 48 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's. ********KEEP WATCH,...a lot of interesting older ANTIQUE/CLASSIC AUTOS (1949-1985) better shape than this coming in the next several weeks/months,...ALL of which will start with a modest starting price w/NO RESERVE!!!********
