Vehicle Detail

This vehicle was originally a hardtop and converted professionally (reinforced frame under door openings) into a convertible using factory convertible top bows. The paint job is decent “Driver Quality” paint with original two-tone color. Installed a Fat Man Fabrication Mustang II cross member with disk brakes, rack and pinion steering, installed a narrowed Ford 8 inch rear end and air shocks to give it a better stance. The original 4 cylinder engine and transmission were replaced with a 80K mile 2.8 liter fuel injected V-6 and 700 R4 transmission out of a 1989 Pontiac Firebird. Had dual Flow master exhaust installed which gives it a nice throaty sound. I had the original radiator re-cored and installed electric fan, no room for original fan from Firebird, and have had no issues with cooling even in the hottest weather. I had an aluminum fuel tank fabricated which sits under the trunk up out of the way very nicely. The gages and speedometer all work and are accurate because they are from the Firebird. This project though does need the interior finished. I have brand new (Metro Pit Stop) door and back panels which need to be installed, the center console needs to be upholstered and carpet needs to be installed. I also have and older OEM vinyl top that would need to be installed though it does have a tonneau cover that is in place. The bucket seats are in great condition and actually match the black/white door panels. It wouldn’t take much to make it an awesome street rod all the hard, expensive and professional work is done. The good thing about this is you can have fun driving and showing it while you tinker with the few things that do need finishing. This metro runs and drives great, very reliable and it’s got some guts compared to the original 54 HP 4 cylinder engine it’s just an all around nice little unique street rod. It is a blast to drive to Saturday night out, old car cruises and shows and receives comments wherever I go. There are not a lot of these little Metropolitan convertibles out there and for sure not many with a fuel injected V-6. It’s only driven in the summer and put in storage for 6 months out of the year. I hate to part with it but I have several other older vehicles and have lost interest in this one I need to thin the herd to free up time and space for other projects.
