1967 BUICK SKYLARK 400GS. This car will serve you as a show & shine, street racer, cruising car, and on the drag strip. It is branded 400GS, but it packs a lot more punch than that. When you get asked 'What's it got?' you can point to the badging and say 'Can't you read!' If you've got the attitude of course. This 'beast' sounds amazing while at idle and cruise speeds, and trust me you WILL turn heads even through other traffic noise. For a big block car the motor is very crisp and responsive and not lazy when it revs, I mean it sounds almost like a race car when you crack the throttle. SPECIFICS: 1967 body and chassis, with a custom '2” cowl hood scoop'. Redone interior is black carpet and cloth on bucket seats, and rear seat. Has center console with shifter. 455 Buick engine that has 400 heads that have had a lot of work to make it produce tremendous torque and were freshened up by SAT machine shop here last year. Engine is bored out 60 over and is 468.9 ci. Stage 1 valves intake are 2.125 and exhaust are 1.375. Push rods are .375 cro-molly and engine oils from lifters. Has full shaft mount roller rockers with Buick valve covers. Cam is Crane 2 step 5-10/5-20. Stall converter is 10" 2500 rpm. Carburetor is Holley 1000 cfm from the "Carburetor Shop". Has T/A Performance intake manifold that has been JetHot coated. The exhaust is very special with extra long 4" collector headers (also JetHot coated) to improve low end torque with 2 1/2" pipe all the way out the back to Flowmaster Delta 40 mufflers. When you smash the gas pedal the volume gets really nasty. You MUST HEAR this car to appreciate the attention to the motor and exhaust. Ignition is MSD-6 with rev limiter chip. Tach is steering column mounted with shift light that has chip that can be changed to your preference for the shift light. There are 2 batteries mounted in the trunk in NHRA approved cases. Takes a lot of amps to start this big bad boy. Transmission is Turbo 400. It has extra deep pan with coolin fins. Holds about 5 extra quarts, and uses pancake filter. It has a heavy duty sprag and a 2nd stage shift kit. Car is equipped with Gear Vendors Overdrive. This lets you cruise around 65 at about 2,800rpms. It also effectively gives you 6 gears when on the drag strip if you want. Rear end is 12 bolt GM with 8.875" ring gear. Has C-clip eliminators by Summers Brothers. Now running 3.55 gear. Rear end has AntiHop and trailing bar raised 3". The track bars are also reinforced or boxed in to keep their rigidity. Shocks are drag shocks front and rear. Front is set 90/10 and rear is set 50/50. Air bags in rear work best if passenger side is set 12-14 pounds and driver side is set at 4 pounds. Car has line lock: press brake, flip switch, take foot off brake and SMOKE 'EM. Equipped with electric fan for hot days, and to cool engine between runs at the strip. Switch is on dash. Electric fuel pump operated by a separate switch on dash. Has another bank of lighted gauges for water, alternator, and oil. In a more RACE set up this car has done 12.13 in full quarter at Carlsbad, CA. EXTRAS for buyer with good price: 455 engine and 400 Turbo transmission. A extra set of heads. O.E.
