Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a fun 1971 Triumph GT6. This car started as a rust free car (please see pictures to see how truly rust free this shell really was). The objective was to bring the car back to original specs maintaining originality as much as possible. Not to mention, keeping original parts where possible. Original paint was faded beyond help so a re-spray was performed. Many, many labor hours spent on the car and the results show that. Included with the car are all original parts that were not installed back. This is not a show car, but it is a great driver that presents well and is a blast to drive. Below is an extensive list of all work performed to the car: Body: Body was prepped comprehensive prior to being re-sprayed in the original color – Paint is of good quality, but it is not show condition. Inside of the car was completely gutted and cleaned (see pictured to see how rust free this car is) to ensure all new/refurbished parts went back in properly. Suspension: All suspension bushings replaced with urethane units. Shock are new as are the front springs, which are a bit stiffer and shorter to give the car a more aggressive stance and negative camber to aid handling. Car has been aligned after all suspension and brake work was performed. Engine & Transmission: Original engine is in great condition, runs clean and consumes no oil. Carburetors were rebuilt and synched. Car starts (with choke) and idles great on its own (no choke) once up to temperature. Installed Petronix electronic unit to remove points and condenser. Transmission shifts smoothly though all gears and works just as intended – new shift kit was installed. Exhaust: Replaced intake/exhaust gasket with new one and added studs, nuts and clamps where needed. Monza 4-pipe exhaust systems installed – Sounds quite good. Interior: New headliner, new carpet, new rear panels, refurbished front panels and seats. Seats use original seat covers, but foam has been replaced with better quality pieces to ensure comfort and looks. One off solid black walnut dashboard, which replaced the stock unit – we also custom fabricated a shift knob with the same wood. Interior parts have been simplified to provide more room. For example, only the parking brake cover has been installed. All other parts are included with the car, they were not installed because in clutters things up and make the cockpit even tighter unnecessarily. We recovered the period correct aftermarket steering wheel. Wheels and Tires: The stock wheels were replaced with wider (5.5”) triumph wheels. These were powder-coated and mounted with 185/60r/13 tires. Stock GT6 center caps were used – they really look great. They make the car so much more presentable, not to mention how much better it handles. Brakes: Everything is new in all 4 corners, including the master cylinder and clutch master cylinder. We also installed wheel bearings. Glass and weather-strip: Stock glass in great condition, except for the windshield, which was replaced with a new unit. All glass gaskets/rubber are new, including hatch glass removal. Windshield chrome trim is original, cleaned and refinished. Nothing major, just a little at a time. There was a small spot of rust on the hood (bonnet) by the headlight/hinges, which has been cured, but not removed. It is small and it didn’t warrant the removal of the unit – see pictures showing that part.Bumpers are original and good condition, but chrome is not great and pitting a bit.Fuel gauge show between ¼ and ½ but doesn’t move much. Important: I'll be happy to answer any questions you may have, so please ask questions before biding. Car is located in Redmond, WA and can be viewed by appointment. No warranty is provided or implied. This is a 43 year old car and things can go wrong unexpectedly, specially being a Brit with Lucas electrics.
