Vehicle Detail

Hello to all ebayers, PLEASE READ..... .....up for your consideration and/or bid is my 1970 Chevrolet Impala 2 door hardtop coupe. Although the pictures virtually speak for themselves.....it's what's under the hood that has the real value that you may not notice at first glance. The engine is the original numbers matching 400 small block that I GUARANTEE is the ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING ENGINE OR YOUR MONEY BACK!!! The engine is the 265 HP version according to the code. The other set of numbers on the block pad matches the VIN number identically. The transmission is original also,...it may be a turbo 350 with the engine HP output or possibly the turbo 400, I don't know. I'm not sure what the rear-end is specifically,...it may or may not be a posi-trac,...seeing the engine is the 265 HP 2 barrel carburated version...vrs. the 370 HP 4 barrel version. I've owned the Impala since 2002 and saved it from going to the crusher years ago, obviously for the engine alone. The frame is very much solid enough to load and unload without coming apart for years, but not good enough for the road ever again in my opinion. According to the man I purchased the Impala from, the 400 not only ran great, but burned no oil and it only went off the road due to his daughter getting in an accident because of the slippery winter driving way back in 1993. The last time I started the 400 was in 2004 when I purchased it and has been sitting ever since. At the time of purchase, I was also told the mileage was original and that he was the second owner having purchased the Impala in 1976. Like I say, the current value of the Impala is the 400 small block I feel,...but it does have some parts value to anyone out there who has a rarely seen (if ever) 1970 Impala. The Impala still has the original steering wheel, complete original dash with A/C ducts/vents, all original under the hood including ALL original A/C parts never touched, still has all belts in place! Besides the A/C, the Impala has power steering,...I think that is about it for options. The trunk lid is in excellent condition with minimal surface rust, 2 stainless rear quarter trim pieces come with the Impala with a couple small imperfections along with a drivers side headlight trim ring (note the picture) that's in perfect condition. The tail lights are in great shape with only 1 out of 6 broken. The engine would be ideal for a person restoring a 1970 Impala or for a street rod, stock car or???....seeing the 400 was known for having great power and had much better fuel economy than "big-brother" (the big block) also would stand up to continuous high rpms better than big blocks too. I've stated all that I know about this Impala as factual as possible. Due to the age and amount of sitting for years, this Impala does not come with any guarantees or warranties expressed or implied and is sold as is where is. For the winning bidder I offer FREE delivery BUT only if you are local and/or up to only 20 miles away. If you are 21-100 miles from the Impala I offer delivery for a fee of $1.00 per mile. I do not offer any delivery options over 100 miles and I certainly do not offer any long haul options from state to state either. Any winning bidder that is in the "over 100 mile category" it is up to you to make shipping arrangements and of course all transportation and shipping costs are the expense of you...(the winning high bidder). At my discretion, I may extend the free delivery from 21-100 miles if the Impala reaches a dollar amount I deem acceptable. Should you use your own trailer/equipment to pickup the Impala,...I offer FREE loading assistance to you with my Rollback and equipment,...or I'll assist the carrier of your choice (should you hire one),...also FREE of charge. PLEASE NOTE;...the state of Maine does not/will not issue a title for ANY automobile/vehicle of 1995 and prior. I do not have a title and the Impala comes with a bill-of-sale as ownership. ADDITIONAL NOTE;...some states will not accept a bill-of-sale as ownership of a vehicle,...please check with your individual state. FOR THOSE PERSPECTIVE BIDDERS THAT FIT INTO THIS LAST CATEGORY,...please let me know and I can contact the state of Maine and they will issue a legal document so that you can take this paperwork to YOUR state DMV you reside in and YOUR STATE will issue you a new title in your state. I've done this may of times before and to my knowledge this is the only perfectly legal way for bidders from title-demanding states to get a title for a vehicle from a non-title issuing state. I believe the pictures speak for them self, and what doesn't I've included in the description,........if you feel I have missed anything or you have any questions what so ever, please feel free to send me an email and I'll answer the question(s) asap. Upon the completion of the auction I ask that the winning bidder to commit to the transaction with payment in the form of a $200.00 deposit within 48 hours. I also ask that the high bidder follow-up with full payment in 7 days, or contact me for additional time if needed. If you have no intent of following threw with the complete payment of the auction item, please just don't bid and waste everyone's time playing games,...any non paying bidders will be reported to both ebay and all 3 major credit reporting agency's. ********KEEP WATCH,...a lot of interesting older ANTIQUE/CLASSIC AUTOS (1949-1985) better shape than this coming in the next several weeks/months,...ALL of which will start with a modest starting price w/NO RESERVE!!!******** .....thanks for looking, Bob.
