Vehicle Detail

I’ve had this truck for seven years – love it but time to sell and get something we can take the grandchildren in!! What attracted me to this truck in the first place was the unique flames...they look cool. Pretty much everything but the Body & Frame have been replaced/upgraded or rebuilt. That said, the Frame was welded in several spots to reinforce or add cross-members. The truck remains a little rough around the edges because I didn’t want to do the bodywork/paint and lose the flames. It’s not perfect but then I’m not looking for $40 grand! What we have is a basic Ford in a Ford sort of – no Chevy motor & not a 302. I wanted to go retro so it has a Ford 390 V8 with a little bit of work - bored 30 over with Edelbrock Performer Heads & Intake Manifold, Edelbrock Performer Plus Cam & Lifters, Edelbrock Thunder Carburetor and a little bit of help with a 2½” dual exhaust w/low restriction mufflers (sound great) and a Summit Aluminum Race Radiator w/2010 CFM Electric Fan (keeps her cool). It has the C6 Transmission & 9” Differential. Keeping with the retro theme, it has American Racing Ansen Sprint Wheels w/ BFG Radial T/A’s. It also has a new wiring harness and wiring from bumper to bumper.  Other stuff includes a Mustang II IFS W/Front Disc Brakes/Power Rack & Pinion Steering, Flaming River Tilt Steering Column w/Wood Steering Wheel, Front Tilt Hood Kit making it much easier to work out front, Vintage Air Heater to keep you warm, custom grill insert & gauges, Cruise Control and Slider Rear Window. Yellow Top Optima Battery resides in the truck box in a battery box hidden by the Tonneau Cover. The box floor is a simple approach – it has cedar boards covered by a rubber mat. Someone wanted some extra pictures of the interior of the truck so I added a few....it has black carpet on the floor, kick panels & rear wall, a black cloth recovered GMC bench seat and ABS Headliner.  For sound, it has an Alpine AM/FM Receiver and remote CD Player currently residing in a box on the floor (works good!) - my current project is the old Ford heater that was in the truck - I've stripped it and will be painting it shortly...it will be mounted under the dash and will have the AM/FM Receiver in the top and the Heater controls on the bottom.  There are two larger speaker boxes behind the seat and 2 five inch speakers in the side kick panels.  The doors are just painted - never bothered getting door panels.  The dash had a number of holes from a radio/various gauges/switches over the years so I installed the metal dash repair panel from Mid-Fifty F-100 Parts.  As stated above, it has a Flaming River Tilt Steering Column and a custom dash insert with Dolphin Gauges.     I have described the truck as best I can. It has been very reliable and a lot of fun but it is time for us to step up to the next level, chasing a coupe, sedan or whatever. .
