Vehicle Detail
Unbelievable 1977 Microbus head turner. Over 400 man hours spent on restoration. Phenomenal one of a kind bus. Make it your show car, daily driver, or both! This is a great opportunity to invest in an iconic piece of history that continues to increase in value every day. The many pictures speak for themselves, but if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. 904 200 1081 and MAKE US AN OFFER!!! This 1977Volkswagen Microbus began its restoration with us intact, accident free with only minimal dings and dents, a good running driver, and with only minimal surface rust. Only the “common to rust out” battery tray was replaced with new metal. This bus was a true barn find. RESTORATIONBus was completely disassembled inside and out, down to a shell and power washed. All parts were inventoried and inspected for functionality and appearance. 90% of the original German parts were refurbished and reused as opposed to replacing them with a lesser quality aftermarket part usually made in China. BODYWORK Entire bus was sanded. Any dings or dents were repaired. Heavy coats of “Fill-Primer” were applied to even out the body, sanded and prepared for paint. PAINTThis two-toned bus was painted with quality DuPont automotive base coat/clear coat products. The upper half and bumpers are painted in black. Bottom half and interior is astunning metallic burgundy. Then entire bus was painted with several wet coats of clear. EXTERIORAfter paint has cured, the body is wet-sanded with 5000 grit sandpaper and machine polished for ultimate shine. All parts new and refurbished are carefully installed. All rubber seals and gaskets were replaced with new. Some but not all new parts include; side mirrors, light lenses and housings, roof rack antenna, and more. Wheels are aftermarket 17” rims with brand new low profile tires. INTERIOR Side walls in the passenger cargo area have been covered with black leather-like vinyl prior to all glass (with new rubber) being installed. Ceiling was coated with an automotive sound-deadening undercoat then lined with beautiful bamboo and black slats. Floor is also coated with undercoating, new plywood installed then covered with high traction area black carpet. Seat stands, rear cargo and side panels are covered with a flexible automotive black carpet. Dashboard and components were restored and dash painted with a special rubberized paint and reassembled. Stereo is a new Pioneer cd player with aux port and two speakers mounted in the rear seats. 4 new black lap belts in the rear and 23 point seat belts in front. UPHOLSTERY Upholstery was done in house with all new foam and leather-like vinyl. Featuring perforated and pleated black tops, solid black sides and accenting burgundy piping. All rear seat bottom cushions and cup holder/armrest lift up for access to plentiful storage. Front seats are bucket with headrest. UNDERCARRAIGE and MECHANICAL Entire underbody was power washed and completely sealed with automotive rust preventative undercoating. All mechanical and electrical components removed in disassembly are carefully inspected, tested and either repaired or replaced. Some, but not all, new components include; misc. steering, brake, axle, shifter and suspension components as well as throttle, clutch, heater, and brake cables. So much more work went into the important mechanics of this bus there is too much to list, but feel free to ask any questions. ENGINE and TRANSMISSION Powered by a 1800cc "pancake" Porsche Boxer motor which was disassembled and refurbished. Then meticulously reassembled. New Progressive Holley Weber carburetor andair cleaner, battery and seals, etc. For years we have loved rebuilding and restoring old classics and take tremendous pride in our work and finished products. It gives us remarkable satisfactionto be able to take a 40 year old relic and put it back on the road to be enjoyed by all for many years to come. These VW buses are a great investment and the rate at which they are increasing in value is striking. We are known to take reasonable offers and remove the bus from auction without notice. Don't loose out on this beauty!!!!
