1961 Econoline truck, 5.3L LS Chevy Fuel injected V8 Swap This truck has a fuel injected 5.3 LS, vortec Chevy v8. It has approximately 100,000 miles on the engine. Swap performed about 2 years ago. It drives great and runs fantastic. Fires right up and has no mechanical problems. It has a 2 speed powerglide and a factory ford rear-end. The paint isn't perfect but looks good. It has a great appearance and shows well. The body is very solid but does have rust in the normal places for these models (see pictures). The cabin of the truck is very solid with no rust in the floors and the underside of the truck is very stable. It has 4 wheels drum brakes and later model ford “gt” wheels with worn tires. The tires have about 50% tread life left. Headlights, taillights, turn signals all work. The swap however does not utilize the factory gauges. An “ultra gauge” can be used hooked up to the OBD-II plug to observe the vitals. The factory fuel tank still resides under the rear of the truck but is fed through a 14gal fuel cell in the bed of the truck. Truck does have a clear marketable MO title. All in all the truck would be great for a daily driver, weekend cruiser, or a perfect start to a complete resto-mod fixer. It turns heads!
