Here is the ultra rare 1986 RG500 suzuki Gamma! This bike has had a lot of money put into it! Starts first kick! Runs great! This bike has had a bunch of lance gamma work done to it, like his custom reinforced swing arm, carb check ball valve, jets and air filter kit, custom chambers as they weave between each other under the gas tank (was told they might be mark dent?) I can not confirm that as all of this work was done in the 90's including custom battery relocation with built in oil tank with clear hose on the side to show level. Large suzuki wheels with nice big rubber, custom gsxr front end with dual disks and tokico breaks on front and stock gamma on rear with new lines. This bike was in a private collection with some really amazing bikes keeping it company when I found it. This bike comes with clean California title and non op registration as it has not seen road use since 1996! Previous owner swears bike only has 3000 miles on it and I have the odometer to prove it but it is not mounted on the bike as the new front end didn't allow for that much space with the air tech fairing. All air tech fairing no stock pieces. Nice seat, break light works, rear signals only but has connectors if you want to add them, no headlight either but also has the connector and stay to attach to. This bike has great compression and sounds just like the Grand Prix bike it should. Oh also has a really nice Fox race mono shock worth over a grand by itself. The black on the tank looks a little two tone as if someone touched up some paint some time, but with the blank canvas it's ready for a nice skoal bandit replica paint job or your choice as decal kits are available. You will be the only one at your local bike night with probably the most highly sought after GP bike! I fired it up today and took a video I will upload to youtube and add the link when I get it done... Took it around town today and this thing just wanted to take off! I'm sure after years of sitting the carbs should be synced but I changed the oil in both tranny and oil tank, drained old gas from carbs (tank was dry). Put some 2 stroke oil in the cylinders then she fired right up. This bike is for sale locally too so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells here first. Call or text with any question or if you want a video texted to you (5three0-five2zero-9five5nine) no contact of any kind by solicitors and no I don't need help selling it. Bid early and good luck, these don't come available very often!
Payment deposit of $500 non refundable due immediately after sale with rest due in cash, money order, check (I will wait for it to clear before bike leaves my place) no later than 5 days after auction close.
Here is some info on the stock original bike:
The Suzuki RG500 "Gamma" was a motorcycle built by Suzuki between 1985 and 1987 and inspired by the 1984 Suzuki RG500 "Gamma" Grand Prix motorcycle, capitalizing on Suzuki's seven consecutive constructors title wins in the 500 cc-class. The Gamma was powered by a two stroke, rotary valve, twin crank, square four engine displacing 498 cubic centimeters. The power output was 93.7 brake horsepower (69.9 kW) at 9,500 RPM. The engine employed liquid-cooling by means of a front-mounted radiator with a thermostatic control. Suzuki employed an aluminum boxsection frame with castings for the headstock and swinging arm for the Gamma. The front suspension had pre-load adjust and an anti-dive system called "POSI DAMP" to control the tendency of a motorcycle's nose to dive under braking. At the rear the full-floater suspension design used dual-swingarms. The motorcycle weighed 154 kg (340 lb) dry.
On Jun-11-14 at 08:50:16 PDT, seller added the following information: I took a quick video of it starting up yesterday, the air filter foam was deteriorating from years of sitting so I took them off but will include with sale (no I don't ride it all over with no filters on). Search 1986 RG500 start up to see the video, also bike does not come with mirrors On Jun-12-14 at 10:54:57 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I spoke with Rick Lance today from Lance Gamma and he surely stated that he had done this work to this bike some time in the 90's He also let me know that the Pipes are not Dent and they are Crawford. Also he said that is his battery/oil tank relocation job and his mono shock bracket and swing arm along with his one piece tail section that is either his or one that Airtech made a copy of. He also gave me some things to look at on the engine to see if it was stock or not, first being the inside of the carbs where the oil injector sticks out (if it sticks out it is stock and has not been bored) Yes they stick out into the carbs, and also if the front outer cylinder head bolts have a lock washer under them or not.... He said that a tuned motor with work done to it needs that washer spacer so the bolts don't get in the way of the power valve... My head bolts do not have this lock washer. I did a compression test and all 4 cylinders were 130psi or so. Rick said that since he did the rest of the work on this bike back when he had his shop in California that if the carbs are not bored and no lock washers that it is a stock motor. And since it has not been on the road since the 90's I don't believe any other work has been done to it. Also Rick said he would be more than happy to help the new owner with anything relating to this bike. Thanks very much and good luck bidding! Oh and the tires are as follows Front: Metzler 120/70/ZR17 (some cracking near rim on sides, old tires) Rear: Michelin 170/60/ZR17 (seems in good shape but who knows how old it is) Bike starts first kick!
