Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE This 1932 Hupmobile Model F222 incorporates many art deco design features. This is an older body off restoration of a no-rust car with: mohair interior, rebuilt 93 H.P. 250.7 cubic inch straight eight engine, two barrel Stromberg updraft carburetor, full pressure oiling, 3 speed synchromesh transmission with freewheeling, Trippe speedlights, luggage rack with trunk, cycle fenders, four suicide doors, single side mounted spare with metal cover, and 122 inch wheelbase. The front suspension has been rebuilt with new kingpins, bushings and spring end bushings. The engine was completely rebuilt and balanced with new pistons, rings, bearings, valves, and timing chain. This vehicle also has a rebuilt water pump, fuel pump and carburetor; rebuilt starter and generator; new clutch and throwout bearing; N.O.S. exhaust pipes and muffler; re-cored radiator; and new wiring harness. The interior was completely reupholstered to match original with wool mohair. The rear window and two side windows have pull-down privacy shades. The car is painted dark brown and beige, which matches the original colors of Boone Brown and Amazon Stone Gray. The grille, radiator ornament, bumpers, windshield frame, Trippe speedlights, taillight, and many miscellaneous chrome parts were re-plated. All glass was replaced with safety glass with new channeling or rubber. Modifications include LED supplemental brake lights that are incorporated into the luggage rack for additional driving safety. Turn signals at the rear are incorporated into the luggage rack and under the edge of the front fenders as well. No modifications have been made to the body to incorporate these and they can easily be removed. This vehicle is in excellent condition and is stored in a climate controlled building (under a car cover) when not in use. The 1932 Hupmobile is the first car designed by Raymond Loewy, who later designed the Studebaker Starlite coupes and the Avanti. The hubcaps incorporate an “S” design, which was patented by Mr. Loewy, and it is the same style “S” used on Studebaker vehicles. The hood ornament insignia has an arrow within it that is the same design that was used on the Studebaker Avanti. Only 3,579 Hupmobile Model F’s of all body styles were manufactured in 1932; 33 are known to exist, 25 are 4 door sedans like this one. This vehicle is being sold “AS IS – WHERE IS.” No warranty expressed or implied. Buyer is responsible for shipping, vehicle tax (where applicable) and registration. Terms of sale: $500.00 deposit to PayPal required within 24 hours of listing close. Bank-to-bank electronic transfer for balance of funds due within seven (7) days of listing close.
